Eastern Hymns for Western Shores is an EP of previously unreleased Switchfoot songs. It was first available for purchase on the band's annual Holiday Package for 2010. The EP was released for individual purchase from Switchfoot.com on December 31, 2010. [1]
Word of a possible lost EP of Switchfoot songs began circulating when fan websites received word from "inside sources" of a release called "Eastern Hymns for Western Shores". No word came after that for almost an entire year, until drummer Chad Butler was asked about the release in January 2010. Butler admitted to being unclear of plans for the tunes, saying "I'm sure that'll come out maybe sometime this year. We'll see." [2]
This was the last anyone heard of Eastern Hymns for Western Shores until the official announcement was sent out via email newsletter. In the email, Switchfoot revealed that the songs were recorded between the Nothing Is Sound and Oh! Gravity. sessions. [3] The masters for these songs were thought to have been lost or stolen for years until they were finally recovered, recorded and mixed within the same week. [3] The band went on to describe that the six songs showcase a "darker and more mysterious sound for the band", and that they had gone "all out" on the packaging. [3]

Switchfoot is an American rock band from San Diego, California. The band's members are Jon Foreman, Tim Foreman, Chad Butler, and Jerome Fontamillas. After early successes in the Christian rock scene, Switchfoot first gained mainstream recognition with the inclusion of four of their songs in the 2002 movie A Walk to Remember. This recognition led to their major label debut, The Beautiful Letdown, which was released in 2003 and featured the hits "Meant to Live" and "Dare You to Move". The album sold over 2.6 million copies. They have since been noted for their energetic live shows, and their seventh studio album Hello Hurricane received a Grammy award in 2011 for Best Rock or Rap Gospel Album.
Jonathan Mark Foreman is an American musician, the lead singer, guitarist, main songwriter and co-founder of the alternative rock band Switchfoot. He started Switchfoot in 1996 with drummer Chad Butler and his brother Tim Foreman on bass guitar. Jerome Fontamillas and Drew Shirley later joined the band.
Jesse David Leach is an American musician from Providence, Rhode Island, and is the lead vocalist of the metalcore band Killswitch Engage. He is also a vocalist for Times of Grace and The Weapon. In February 2012, he rejoined Killswitch Engage following the departure of vocalist Howard Jones in January 2012. He currently resides in the Catskill Mountains in New York.
Nothing Is Sound is the fifth studio album by American alternative rock band Switchfoot. It was released on September 13, 2005 and debuted at number three on the Billboard 200. The first single from the album was "Stars," which was the number one most-added song on Modern Rock Radio and received much airplay on alternative rock stations upon release. A second single, "We Are One Tonight," was released in early 2006, though it did not enjoy much success on the Billboard charts.

Sleeping at Last is a musical project led by singer-songwriter and multi-instrumentalist Ryan O'Neal. The album was promoted by four singles: "Who We Are" and "Love Alone Is Worth the Fight", released in September 2013, "Let It Out" released in February 2014, and "When We Come Alive", released in May 2014.
Fading West is a documentary film, shot during Switchfoot's 2012 World Tour, directed by Matt Katsolis of Interpret Studios. It follows the band to locations around the world, including the U.S., South Africa, Bali, Australia and New Zealand. In the official press release, it was described as "part rock documentary, part surf film, and part travelogue."
"Who We Are" is a song by American alternative rock band Switchfoot, released on September 17, 2013, as the first track on the band's Fading West EP and one of two lead radio singles promoting Switchfoot's ninth studio album, Fading West, which was released on January 14, 2014. On January 21, a single containing three remixes of the song was released.
