Edward Mundell is an American rock guitarist known for his space rock 1970's inspired sound. From 1992 to 2010, he was the lead guitarist for stoner rock band Monster Magnet, contributing to eight albums in total. As of 2024, Mundell contributes to various recordings and soundtracks as a studio musician based in Los Angeles.
Mundell is a self-taught guitar player who grew up in New Jersey. He joined Monster Magnet as lead guitarist in 1992. [1] His first recorded appearance with the band was a 1992 single for GLitterhouse, titled Evil/elephant Bell , followed by the iconic stoner rock album 1993's Superjudge album. In the span of 18 years, he played on eight Monster Magnet albums in total between 1992 and 2010 receiving a certified gold Album for 1998's Powertrip . Mundell founded New Jersey stoner band The Atomic Bitchwax as a side project in order to keep playing in between Monster Magnet touring. He left Monster Magnet in 2010 to "collaborate with new producers, songwriters and musicians". [1] In an interview with Everyone Loves Guitar, Mundell stated “I don’t seek out approval anymore…” [2]
Mundell's style is heavily influenced by psychedelic 1970s rock such as Jimi Hendrix and Tommy Bolin.
In 2011, it was announced that Mundell had formed a new project, "The Ultra Electric Mega Galactic" (UEMG). The debut album was released January 2013 with a 2014 follow-up extended EP titled Through the Dark Matter released in conjunction with UEMG's first European tour. A new The Ultra Electric Mega Galactic Album scheduled for fall of 2024.
Mundell is currently working on a third The Ultra Electra Mega Galactic Album and actively contributes to various recordings and soundtracks as a studio musician in Los Angeles. Recent recordings with Desert stoner rock Val Chillmore and the band Volume. Ed Mundell in conjunction with Creepy Fingers Effects Pedals has released his ED MUNDELL INFINITY FUZZ PEDAL in 2009, with tan update to the pedal in 2022.
Mundell has been married to film producer/rock photographer Karen M. Murphy since 2006. [3]
Monster Magnet is an American rock band, founded in Red Bank, New Jersey in 1989 by Dave Wyndorf, John McBain (guitar) and Tim Cronin. The band has since gone through several lineup changes, leaving Wyndorf as the only constant member. Monster Magnet has released eleven studio albums to date, and are best known for their 1990s hits "Negasonic Teenage Warhead" and "Space Lord". The band has also been credited for developing and popularizing the stoner rock genre, along with Masters of Reality, Kyuss, Fu Manchu and Sleep.
Powertrip is the fourth studio album by American rock band Monster Magnet, released on June 16, 1998. The album was the band's commercial breakthrough, achieving mainstream success due largely to the hit single "Space Lord". Other hit songs on the album include "Powertrip", "Temple of Your Dreams", and "See You in Hell". The album itself, reached #1 on the Heatseekers Charts, #21 in the German Charts, #65 in the UK Charts, and #97 on the Billboard 200. The album was certified gold by the RIAA on January 25, 1999.

Mixing elements of 1960s psychedelic rock and 1970s riff rock filtered through modern progressive rock, their music has appeared in TV shows such as Jackass, Homewrecker, and various Fox Sports broadcasts.
David Albert Wyndorf is an American musician, best known as the lead vocalist and rhythm guitarist of hard rock band Monster Magnet. He is the band's frontman, songwriter and only remaining founding member. Monster Magnet has released eleven studio albums and is considered one of the pioneers of the stoner rock genre. Prior to forming Monster Magnet, Wyndorf was the frontman of punk band Shrapnel.

It was a commercial failure compared to their previous album, Powertrip. It was their last release recorded for A&M Records, due to problems with promotion of the album but it reached #17 in Germany. It would also be the last release with bassist Joe Calandra and drummer Jon Kleiman.

It is a follow-up to 2000's God Says No. It would also be the first album featuring bassist Jim Baglino. Bob Pantella was hired to fill the band's drum position after the album's recording; the drums on the album were performed by Michael Wildwood.
Distortion and overdrive are forms of audio signal processing used to alter the sound of amplified electric musical instruments, usually by increasing their gain, producing a "fuzzy", "growling", or "gritty" tone. The first disc contains the band's best-known material, and contains tracks from 1991's Spine of God up until their 2000 effort, God Says No, while the second disc contains the band's music videos and a few B-sides and rarities.
MeteorCity Records is an American record label founded in 1997 by Jadd Shickler and Aaron Emmel in Albuquerque, New Mexico. With the release of its compilation album Welcome to MeteorCity showcasing young unsigned Kyuss-like bands, MeteorCity helped launch the stoner rock genre and many of the genre's first bands, plus side projects from members of well-known bands including The Atomic Bitchwax and Hermano. MeteorCity Records was one of the first record labels dedicated exclusively to Stoner rock, doom metal, sludge metal, drone metal and psychedelic rock.
Black NASA is a New Jersey-based rock band, often placed in the stoner rock genre. They formed in the early 2000s in Long Branch, and were active while the guitarist in Kosnik's other band was busy with Monster Magnet. The band has a heavy 70s feel. They have not been active since touring to support Deuce. The band's name refers to NASA conspiracies in general, and is unrelated to the Old Negro Space Program. Duane Hutter and Corey Stubblefield have been playing a new band called 40 POUND HOUND since 2014.

4-Way Diablo is the seventh studio album by American rock band Monster Magnet. It was recorded in four different studios: Sound City Studios, American Studios, The Sunset Lodge and Hydeaway Studios. It was released in 2007, November 5 in Europe and November 6 in the United States where it sold 1,800 copies on its first week of release. This album doesn't feature guitarist Phil Caivano.

It is the first online record store dedicated exclusively to the genres of stoner rock, doom metal, sludge metal, drone metal and psychedelic rock. All That is Heavy was originally owned and operated MeteorCity Records, which was instrumental in the growth of the late 1990s stoner rock scene. Distributed labels, besides their formerly in-house MeteorCity Records, include Tee Pee, Volcom Entertainment, Small Stone Records, Rise Above Records, and others. The store was operated by the now defunct StonerRock.com from 2001 to 2010, and was owned by Dan Beland. On 25 August 2017 it was announced that All That Is Heavy would be taken into new ownership by Casey Kelch and relocated to Houston, Texas.
