Edmund C. Schilling Jr. (born January 4, 1966) is an American college basketball coach and former player who is the current Head Basketball Coach at Pepperdine University. Previously he served as the head coach of the Wright State Raiders.
Schilling was a starting point guard at Miami (Ohio) for four years from 1984 to 1988. He holds the program's career assists record with 629. [1] His teams made appearances in the NCAA Division I men's basketball tournament twice.
At age 22, Schilling began his coaching career in the high school ranks and has held three head coaching positions in high school. He was the head coach at Western Boone Junior-Senior High School from 1988 to 1991. [2] The team had won one game the season before his arrival, and he posted records of 5–16, 11-10 and 15–7 in his three seasons. He moved to Logansport High School for 1991–95. [3]
He coached the United States for the McDonald's All-American Game in 1991 and was its youngest ever head coach.
Following stints in the NBA and as a college assistant and head coach, Schilling returned to high school coaching from 2009 to 2013 at Park Tudor School, winning back-to-back IHSAA State Championships in 2011 and 2012, coaching future professionals Kevin "Yogi" Ferrell and Trevon Bluiett. [4]
Schilling has spent 10 seasons on the bench of Division 1 programs including UMass, Wright State, Memphis, UCLA, Indiana and Grand Canyon. Schilling worked under John Calipari at UMass.
Schilling was the first assistant coach hire on the staff of new New Jersey Nets head coach John Calipari for the 1996–97 season. At 30 years old, he was the youngest coach in the NBA and one of the youngest people in the Nets' locker room. [5]
Schilling was hired to lead the Wright State program on March 19, 1997, taking over for Ralph Underhill. [6] He was the head coach for six seasons and went 75–93 in his six seasons. He was dismissed in 2003 with three years remaining on his contract. [7]
Newly hired Grand Canyon head coach Bryce Drew added Schilling to his staff on April 1, 2020. [8] In the staff's first season, the program won its first conference title at the Division 1 level and qualified for its first NCAA Tournament. [9]
Schilling's father, Ed Sr., played college basketball at Butler and was inducted into the school's hall of fame in 2002. Schilling's wife, April, was a former assistant coach for the Indiana Fever.

Daniel Ricardo Manning is an American college basketball coach and former professional player who is an assistant men's basketball coach at the University of Colorado. Manning played high-school basketball at Walter Hines Page High School in Greensboro, North Carolina, as well as Lawrence High School in Lawrence, Kansas. He played college basketball for the Kansas Jayhawks, and played in the National Basketball Association (NBA) for 14 years. After retiring from professional basketball Manning became an assistant coach at his alma mater, the University of Kansas. He won the national championship with the Jayhawks in 1988 as a player, and again as an assistant in 2008. He is the all-time leading scorer in Kansas basketball history with 2,951 points. The next closest player to his point total is Nick Collison, who is 854 points behind Manning.
John Vincent Calipari is an American basketball coach who is the head coach at the University of Arkansas. He was the head coach at the University of Kentucky from 2009 until the end of the 2023–2024 season, which he led to one NCAA National Championship in 2012. He has been named Naismith College Coach of the Year three times, and was inducted into the Basketball Hall of Fame in 2015.
Scott Anthony Padgett is a retired American professional basketball player and current assistant to the head coach for Mississippi State men's basketball. He was formerly the head coach at Samford University. He played for the National Basketball Association's Utah Jazz, Houston Rockets, New Jersey Nets and Memphis Grizzlies.
Rex Andrew Walters Sr. is an American professional basketball coach and former player who last served as an assistant coach for the Charlotte Hornets of the National Basketball Association (NBA). Previously, he was the associate head coach at Wake Forest University under Danny Manning. Prior to Wake Forest, he spent time at Nevada under Eric Musselman. Bryce Homer Drew is an American college basketball coach and former player who is the head coach of the Grand Canyon Antelopes. Previously he served as the head coach of the Vanderbilt Commodores and in the same capacity at his alma mater, Valparaiso, having succeeded his father, Homer Drew. Drew has led his teams to the NCAA tournament on six occasions, including at least once at each of the three schools where he has been the head coach.
Randall Duane Ayers is an American basketball coach who is currently an assistant coach for the Phoenix Suns of the National Basketball Association. Ayers grew up in Springfield, Ohio and played college basketball at Miami University in Ohio. He has been a basketball coach since 1979.
Mark John Whipple is an American football coach, who most recently served as offensive coordinator at Nebraska in 2022. Whipple was the head football coach at University of New Haven from 1988 to 1993, Brown University from 1994 to 1997, and stints as the University of Massachusetts Amherst (UMass), from 1998 to 2003 and 2014 to 2018. His 1998 UMass team won the NCAA Division I-AA Football Championship. He was the quarterbacks coach for the Cleveland Browns of the National Football League (NFL) in 2011 and 2012. Before joining the Browns in January 2011, Whipple worked for two seasons as the offensive coordinator at the University of Miami. He previously coached in the NFL, working as a quarterback coach with the Pittsburgh Steelers from 2004 to 2006 and as an offensive assistant coach with the Philadelphia Eagles in 2007 and 2008. On January 14, 2014, Whipple returned to UMass as head coach.

The Memphis Tigers men's basketball team represents the University of Memphis in NCAA Division I men's college basketball. The Tigers have competed in the American Athletic Conference since 2013. As of 2020, the Tigers had the 26th highest winning percentage in NCAA history. While the Tigers have an on-campus arena, Elma Roane Fieldhouse, the team has played home games off campus since the mid-1960s. The Tigers moved to the Mid-South Coliseum at the Memphis Fairgrounds in 1966, and then to downtown Memphis at The Pyramid, initially built for the team in 1991 and later home to the NBA's Memphis Grizzlies. In 2004, both teams moved to a new downtown venue, FedExForum. ESPN Stats and Information Department ranked Memphis as the 19th most successful basketball program from 1962 to 2012 in their annual 50 in 50 list.
Anthony Michael Barbee is an American college basketball coach, who is currently serving as head coach of the Central Michigan Chippewas. He was previously head coach at Auburn and UTEP. Barbee led UTEP to a Conference USA championship in 2010 and was named Conference USA Coach of the Year. Barbee played college basketball for Massachusetts under John Calipari, winning two Atlantic 10 regular season and tournament championships in 1992 and 1993.
John Robic is an American men's basketball coach. He most recently served as an assistant men's basketball coach at the University of Kentucky. Prior to joining the Wildcats staff, he served as assistant coach at the University of Memphis and head coach at Youngstown State University.

Bill Bayno is an American basketball coach, who currently serves as assistant coach for the APR of the Rwanda Basketball League (RBL). The UMass Minutemen basketball team represents the University of Massachusetts Amherst in Amherst, Massachusetts, in NCAA Division I men's college basketball. They play their home games in the William D. Mullins Memorial Center. The Minutemen currently compete in the Atlantic 10 Conference. Derek William Kellogg is an American college basketball coach who currently serves as an assistant coach for Creighton. Kellogg previously served as head coach of the Massachusetts Minutemen, his alma mater, being named to the position on April 23, 2008, replacing Travis Ford, who left to take the head coaching job at Oklahoma State University. He was removed from the position on March 9, 2017. After being let go by the Minutemen, he was named head coach of the LIU Brooklyn Blackbirds, which represented the school's Brooklyn campus. He was named the first head coach of the current LIU team upon its formation in July 2019 when LIU merged the Brooklyn athletic program with that of its Post campus, creating a new program that now competes as the LIU Sharks, and served in that role until he was fired and replaced by Rod Strickland on June 30, 2022. After his firing from LIU, Kellogg returned to his alma mater UMass as an assistant coach for one season before leaving for Creighton in 2023.
The Grand Canyon Antelopes baseball team represents Grand Canyon University, which is located in Phoenix, Arizona. The Antelopes, also known as the Lopes, are an NCAA Division I college baseball program competing in the Western Athletic Conference. They were in Division I from 1991 to 1998, the final four seasons in the WAC, and returned in 2014 with the WAC.
