Eric Bridgeland

Eric Bridgeland is a college basketball coach and the former head coach of the Whitman College Blues. Prior to that he was the interim head coach at Pepperdine University. He became the head coach of the Waves after Vance Walberg resigned due to personal reasons on January 17, 2008. He was previously an assistant coach at the school.

On April 15, 2020 he was named the head coach of the University of Redlands Bulldogs.

Bridgeland is a graduate of the University of Manitoba. Prior to going to Pepperdine, he coached at University of Puget Sound, University of California, Santa Cruz, Stephen F. Austin University, and the Colorado School of Mines.

Alva O. Duer was a college basketball coach and National Association of Intercollegiate Athletics (NAIA) and United States Olympic Committee administrator and is a member of the NAIA and Basketball Halls of Fame. He went to Stafford High School in Stafford, Kansas and was captain of the basketball team all four years he attended. He graduated from high school in 1923.

He was previously an assistant coach for the Sacramento Kings of the National Basketball Association (NBA), the head men's basketball coach at Pepperdine University, and an assistant coach at the University of Massachusetts. He is known for developing the dribble drive motion offense, sometimes known as the Memphis Attack, AASAA offense.

The Pepperdine Waves are the athletics teams of Pepperdine University, located outside the city of Malibu, California. They compete at the Division I level of the NCAA. The school is a member of the West Coast Conference for the majority of its programs. Pepperdine University was recently ranked by the Sears Cup as having the most successful athletic program for non-football Division I schools. Pepperdine University sponsors seventeen NCAA Division I intercollegiate athletics teams. There are also several intercollegiate sports clubs such as men's soccer, men's and women's lacrosse, surf team, Ultimate Frisbee and men's rugby.

The Pepperdine Waves men's basketball team is an American college basketball team that represents Pepperdine University in NCAA Division I, the highest level of intercollegiate athletics sanctioned by the National Collegiate Athletic Association (NCAA). The Waves compete in the West Coast Conference and are coached by Lorenzo Romar. The Waves have qualified for the NCAA Division I Men's Basketball Tournament 13 times. Thirty-one former Waves have been drafted by the NBA, and 17 former Waves have played in the NBA, including Dennis Johnson, an inductee of the Naismith Memorial Basketball Hall of Fame.
