Eddie Kadi (born 18 May 1983) is a British-Congolese comedian, presenter and actor.
A resident of South-West London since 1992, he is a past student of Fulham Primary School, Henry Compton Secondary School, William Morris Academy and Kingston University from which he graduated with BSc Honours in Media Technology. [1] [2] Kadi served as President of the Afro-Caribbean Society at the University. [3]
Kadi won the BECA Award for Best Comedy Newcomer In 2006. He was the first Black British solo comedian to sell out London's IndigO2 – two of those during 2009. [2] [4] In September 2010, he performed at London's O2 Arena where he sold out the 13,000 seat arena. [4] He has since made appearances around the world including The Joburg Comedy festival, Africa Laughs in Uganda, night of a thousand laughs in Ghana, as well the AMVCAs broadcast across all 54 states in Africa live from Nigeria.
Kadi joined hiphop star Lauryn Hill at the prestigious venue Radio City Music hall in New York City performing stand up comedy in 2017 followed up with Lauryn Hill and Nas on their powernomic tour in the US, performing stand up comedy across various states.
Kadi is a presenter on BBC Radio 1Xtra on the Official UK Afrobeats Charts Show, [5] and appeared as team captain on series 3 of ITV’s comedy panel show Sorry, I Didn't Know . [6] He is a regular contributor on BBC Radio 5 Live's sports comedy panel show Fighting Talk . [7] He also co-hosted Amazon Music +44 PodcastThe Noughties alongside Nadia Jae. [8]
In 2023, Kadi competed in the twenty-first series of Strictly Come Dancing , partnering with professional dancer Karen Hauer. They were the fifth couple to be eliminated from the competition. [9]
Kadi's work as a voiceover artist includes a characterisation in the Tiger-Aspect-produced animated TV series Tinga Tinga Tales . [10]
His film projects include the lead role in the short film Area Boys (2007), [11] shot in Africa (Lagos, Nigeria) and premiered at the 51st London Film Festival. [12] He also appears as Reggy in Shank (2010); [13] the parking attendant, Tunde, in Anuvahood (2011); [14] and the Radio DJ in Gone Too Far! (2013). [15]
Kadi has also featured vocally alongside UK Hip Hop Artist Sway and was invited to Senegal in 2008 to host the inauguration of the Senegalese rap artist Akon on his "Konfidence Foundation".[ citation needed ]

Femi Oyeniran is a Nigerian-British actor and director who started his career in the cult classic Kidulthood, playing the role of "Moony" in 2006. It was followed by the 2008 sequel Adulthood. His first feature film as a director It's A Lot was released theatrically by Kaleidoscope Home Entertainment in 2013. Oyeniran sold his second movie The Intent to Netflix for a worldwide release; it appeared on the platform on 15 May 2017. The film had already peaked at number three on the iTunes Movie Chart and opened to sold out cinemas. It was funded, shot and distributed completely independently.

It also stars Paul Kaye, Wil Johnson, Ollie Barbieri, Femi Oyeniran, Jocelyn Jee Esien, and Ashley Walters. Critics of the film received it negatively, although it had a strong box-office opening. The film released worldwide on 18 March 2011.

It was originally published online in installments in the 2000s and went viral via smartphones. It was published in print for the first time in 2021, with the formerly anonymous author, now an academic, using the name Jade LB, and won the British Book Awards 2022 in the Discover Book of the Year category.
