Edward Louis McCarter (born August 3, 1953) [1] is an American basketball coach who was most recently an assistant coach for Shelton State.
McCarter begain his coaching career at Fairfield High School as an assistant coach, he then went to coach at Howard Junior College before getting a head coaching job at Charles Henderson High School, he coached at Charles Henderson for nines years achieving an 188–77 record. The teams he compiled three trips to the state tournament including a berth to the 1987 championship game. To add on, his teams won four area championships, four South Alabama tournament titles, three South Alabama conference titles, and tacking on a pair of regional championships. For his performances he won the South Alabama coach of the year five times. Next he was hired at UT Arlington as an assistant coach for two years before being promoted to head coach. He would serve as UT Arlington's head coach for 14 years amassing a record of 179–211. He was the Southland Regular Season Champion once in 2004. [2] On March 9, 2006, he resigned as UT Arlington's head coach. [3] [4] From there he got an assistant coaching job at UAB for one season, [2] before becoming West Alabama's head coach. [5] At his time at West Alabama he went 47–61. After that he got assistant coaching jobs at Arkansas-Pine Bluff for three years and at North Alabama for four years. [2] After that he was hired by Shelton State as an assistant where he spent four seasons as an assistant coach. [6]
Corliss Mondari Williamson is an American basketball coach who serves as an assistant coach for the Minnesota Timberwolves of the National Basketball Association (NBA). He is also a former player who played for four teams during his 12-year career. He previously served as an assistant coach for the Phoenix Suns. His nickname is "Big Nasty", a moniker he received from his AAU coach when he was 13. Williamson was a dominating power forward in college at Arkansas, but an undersized power forward in the NBA and mostly played at the small forward position.
Major Lee Applewhite is an American football coach and former player who is currently the head coach for the South Alabama Jaguars. He served as head coach at the University of Houston from 2017 to 2018, where he previously served as the offensive coordinator and quarterbacks coach. In 2013, he was the co-offensive coordinator and quarterbacks coach at the University of Texas under his head coach as a player, Mack Brown. Prior to Texas, Applewhite served as offensive coordinator at Rice University under Todd Graham in 2006 and at Alabama under Nick Saban in 2007. He was the youngest offensive coordinator among Division I-A schools at that time.

The Alabama Crimson Tide men's basketball team represents the University of Alabama in NCAA Division I men's basketball. The program plays in the Southeastern Conference (SEC). Jim Whitesell is an American college basketball coach who is an assistant coach for the Albany Great Danes men's basketball team.Prior to Albany, he was the head men's coach for the Buffalo Bulls. Previously he coached at the Division I level as a head coach at Loyola University Chicago and an assistant at St. John's and Saint Louis. Whitesell replaced Larry Farmer as head coach of the Ramblers on April 14, 2004. Whitesell was fired as head coach of the Ramblers on March 14, 2011, after seven seasons, posting a 109–106 record in that time. Whitesell was hired in August 2013 as an assistant coach at St. John's to fill the void left by former director of basketball operations Moe Hicks. On April 16, 2015, he was named associate head coach of men's basketball at the University at Buffalo. On April 6, 2019, Whitesell was named the 14th head coach of men's basketball at the University at Buffalo, filling the void left by Nate Oats when he resigned to take the head coach position at the University of Alabama. On March 11, 2023, after four seasons and a 70–49 record he was fired as the Buffalo head coach. He was named an assistant coach at Albany on September 14, 2023.

The North Alabama Lions men's basketball team represents University of North Alabama in Florence, Alabama, United States. The school's team currently competes in the ASUN Conference. On July 1, 2018, they joined the Atlantic Sun Conference. Since joining NCAA Division I, the Lions have not yet appeared in the NCAA Tournament. At the NCAA Division II level, North Alabama won the 1979 and 1991 national championship.

The 2021–22 Coastal Carolina Chanticleers men's basketball team represents Coastal Carolina University in the 2021–22 NCAA Division I men's basketball season. The Chanticleers, led by 15th-year head coach Cliff Ellis, play their home games at the HTC Center in Conway, South Carolina as members of the Sun Belt Conference. They finished the season 19-14, 8-8 in Sun Belt Play to finish in 7th place. They lost in the first round of the Sun Belt tournament to Georgia Southern. They received an invitation to the new The Basketball Classic where they defeated Maryland Eastern Shore, Florida Gulf Coast, and South Alabama to advance to the championship game where they lost to Fresno State.
