Royce "Snoop" Johnson is an American basketball coach who is currently the interim head coach of the UT Arlington Mavericks men's basketball team.

Playing career

Johnson played one year at North Texas in the 1992–1993 season. He played in 11 games averaging 0.6 points, 0.7 rebounds, and 1.3 assists. [1]

Coaching career

in 1995 Johnson became an assistant coach at Kimbal High School under his dad. In 1998 he was made the head coach of Kimbal High School. He was the head coach for 16 years and compiled a record of 373-76 he also led the team to 3 state championships. [2] On June 8, 2014, Johnson was fired. [3] In 2018 Johnson was hired as an assistant coach. In 2021 he was promoted to associate head coach. [4] On February 11, 2023, after Greg Young was fired Johnson was named the interim head coach. The UT Arlington Mavericks men's basketball team is an NCAA Division I college basketball team competing in the Western Athletic Conference. Brooks "Bubba" Jennings is an American college basketball coach at Arlington Baptist University. He is best known for his collegiate playing career when he suited up for Texas Tech University between 1980 and 1985. During his time as a Red Raider, Jennings recorded 1,727 points, 378 assists and 149 steals. As a senior in 1984–85 he was honored with the Frances Pomeroy Naismith Award, a national award given to the best college men's basketball player who is 6'0" or shorter. At the end of the 2012–13 season, after having served as an assistant coach at his alma mater, Jennings was fired as part of a wholesale change in direction of the men's basketball department at Texas Tech.

The 2018–19 UT Arlington Mavericks men's basketball team represented the University of Texas at Arlington during the 2018–19 NCAA Division I men's basketball season. The Mavericks, led by first-year head coach Chris Ogden, played their home games at the College Park Center as members of the Sun Belt Conference. They finished the season 17–16, 12–6 in Sun Belt play to finish a three-way tie for second place. As the No. 2 seed in the Sun Belt tournament, they defeated Georgia Southern in the semifinals before losing to Georgia State in the championship.
