Edinburgh University Basketball Club are a basketball club based at the University of Edinburgh in the city of Edinburgh, Scotland.
The University's men's team have a long history in Scottish basketball, winning the Scottish Cup on four occasions between 1949 and 1965. They competed in National League Division 1 for a total of six seasons, 1 season in 2007-08 and five seasons from 2014 to 2019. Their strongest finish was a 3rd place achieved in 2016. The team withdrew from the National League at the end of the 2018-19 season, although they still compete annually in the Scottish Cup.

The East of Scotland Football League (EoSFL) is a senior football league based in the east and south-east of Scotland. The league sits at levels 6–9 on the Scottish football league system, acting as a feeder to the Lowland Football League.
The British Basketball League (BBL) is a men's professional basketball league in Great Britain and represents the highest level of play in the countries. The league is contested by 10 teams from England and Scotland. There are no clubs from Wales or Northern Ireland. The BBL runs three additional knockout competitions alongside the BBL Championship which are the BBL Cup, BBL Trophy and the end-of-season BBL Playoffs. In March 2024, there will be a BBL All-Star game which will replace the BBL Cup knockout competition.

The side is known for its fast, dynamic and attacking style of play, using offloads and quick rucks. Defensively the club prides itself on its 'Fortress Scotstoun' where the club play at home.
