The University of Benin (UNIBEN) is a public research university located in Benin City,Edo State,Nigeria. It is among the universities owned by the Federal Government of Nigeria and was founded in 1970. The school currently has two campuses with fifteen faculties including a central library called the John Harris Library. The buildings in UNIBEN are sparsely built,they are not close to each other.

It is reported by Joint Admission Matriculation Board (JAMB) to be the most sought-after Nigerian university in 2021. And again in 2023,it was announced by the JAMB Head,Professor Ishaq Oloyede to be the sought-after University,for the 2023 Unified Tertiary Matriculation Examinations (UTME),making it for the 10th consecutive year.
Kingsley Chiedu Moghalu OON is a Nigerian political economist and the President of the African School of Governance (ASG),a pan-African graduate school focused on public policy and governance based in Kigali,Rwanda. He served as Deputy Governor of the Central Bank of Nigeria,appointed by President Umaru Musa Yar'Adua,from 2009 to 2014. He subsequently taught at Tufts University as Professor of Practice in International Business and Public Policy at The Fletcher School of Law and Diplomacy from 2015 to 2017.
