Edward Lawrence Turkington (January 10, 1899 – September 3, 1996) was an American rugby union player who competed in the 1924 Summer Olympics. He was a member of the American rugby union team, which won the gold medal. [1]

Allen Edward Dekdebrun was an American Football quarterback and politician from Buffalo, New York. As a professional football player, Dekdebrun was a career journeyman, playing in the All-America Football Conference, National Football League, Interprovincial Rugby Football Union, and Ontario Rugby Football Union, changing teams on an annual basis. He played college football at Cornell University, where he was also a member of the Quill and Dagger society, and high school football at Burgard High School in Buffalo. He attended Columbia for his freshman year before transferring to Cornell.

Alongside Tim Heidecker, Turkington also stars as a fictionalized version of himself on the comedic web series On Cinema (2011–). In addition, he formed one-half of the band Zip Code Rapists and has collaborated on numerous projects with musicians including Trey Spruance.
Mister America is a 2019 American mockumentary film directed by Eric Nortanicola and starring Tim Heidecker. The film is an extension of the On Cinema universe, in which Heidecker portrays a fictionalized version of himself who reviews films with fellow comedian Gregg Turkington; the film follows Heidecker as he runs for the office of San Bernardino County district attorney, attempting to unseat the incumbent D.A. that previously attempted to imprison him in a mass murder charge. The 1924 United States rugby union tour of England and France was a series of five matches played by the United States in England and France during April and May 1924. The matches in England were warm-up matches for the 1924 Olympic Games. The United States was the defending Olympic champions and successfully defended their title despite fielding a team made up mainly of sportsmen from other sports. In the intervening years, between the 1920 and 1924 Olympic Games, France had played twenty-one internationals and the United States none.
