Sir Edwin Wilberforce Carrington, TC,CM,KCN,CHB,OCC is the former Secretary-General of the Caribbean Community (CARICOM),serving from 1992 to 2010. [1] [2]
Born in Parlatuvier in Tobago,Carrington attended the University College of the West Indies and McGill University,Montreal,Quebec,Canada,earning a BA degree in economics. He subsequently earned a MA degree in economics from the University of the West Indies. He briefly served as a Junior Research Fellow at the Institute of Social and Economic Research (ISER),University of the West Indies (UWI). [3]
Carrington joined the CARIFTA Secretariat,as CARICOM was then called,advancing to the position of Director of the Trade and Integration Division. In 1975,Carrington served as the CARICOM representative during negotiations for the LoméConvention. From 1985 to 1990,Carrington served as Secretary-General of the African,Caribbean and Pacific Group of States (ACP),previously serving as Deputy Secretary-General from 1977. [3] He became the Secretary-General of the Caribbean Community in August 1992 serving until December 2010. This tenure marks him as the longest serving Secretary-General of the Caribbean Community. Carrington is a member of Washington D.C. based think tank the Inter-American Dialogue. [4] He currently serves as the Ambassador of Trinidad and Tobago to the Caribbean Community. [2]

The Caribbean Court of Justice is the judicial institution of the Caribbean Community (CARICOM). Established in 2005,it is based in Port of Spain,Trinidad and Tobago.
The Honourable David Michael Rudder OCC is a Trinidadian calypsonian,known to be one of the most successful calypsonians of all time. He performed as lead singer for the brass band Charlie's Roots. Ian McDonald is a Caribbean-born poet and writer who describes himself as "Antiguan by ancestry,Trinidadian by birth,Guyanese by adoption,and West Indian by conviction." His ancestry on his father's side is Antiguan and Kittitian,and Trinidadian on his mother’s side. His only novel,The Humming-Bird Tree,first published in 1969,is considered a classic of Caribbean literature.

Norman P. Girvan was a Jamaican professor,Secretary General of the Association of Caribbean States between 2000 and 2004. He was born in Saint Andrew Parish,Jamaica. He died aged 72 in Cuba on 9 April 2014,after having suffered a fall while hiking in Dominica in early 2014. He had been a member of the United Nations Committee on Development Policy since 2009,and in 2010 was appointed the UN Secretary-General Ban Ki-moon's personal representative on the Guyana-Venezuela border controversy. He was Professor Emeritus of the University of the West Indies (UWI).
Julian Ernest Chetvynde Rogers MBE is a Caribbean broadcaster and journalist. He has worked as broadcast manager,TV and radio host and producer,publisher,trainer,lecturer,media consultant and public relations professional. Involved since the 1970s with the building of national radio stations notably in Barbados,St Kitts &Nevis,and Antigua &Barbuda,and part of "the original team set up to 'revolutionise' the media industry in Trinidad &Tobago with the rebranding of the Trinidad and Tobago Television Company (TTT) into CNMG",he has been called "the Caribbean man" and has established a reputation as one of the region's most respected media practitioners. His characteristic style as a broadcaster is to conduct biting interviews;one commentator refers to "the persistent journalistic exploits of a resurgent,sharp-witted and emphatic Julian Rogers".
Violet Eudine Barriteau,FB,GCM,is a professor of gender and public policy,as well as Principal of the University of the West Indies at Cave Hill. She was also the president of the International Association for Feminist Economics (IAFFE) from 2009 to 2010,and she is on the advisory editorial boards of Palimpsest:A Journal on Women,Gender,and the Black International,published by SUNY Press,and Signs:Journal of Women in Culture and Society,published by University of Chicago Press.
