eigoMANGA is a comic book publishing company that produces original Japanese-influenced comics and digital media. eigoMANGA has been underway since its conception in 2000. The company is based in San Francisco, California.
eigoMANGA began as a dot-com company founded by Austin Osueke in 2000 that produced webcomics. [1] eigoMANGA was among the first webcomics sites, which helped initiate the trend for other comic book publishers to use the internet as a medium to promote comic books. [2]
eigoMANGA has hosted several anime conventions, the first one, Campus Invasion, being held at the San Francisco State University on May 14, 2004. [3]
In 2005, eigoMANGA formed a joint-publishing partnership with Devil's Due Publishing to extend the circulation reach of its publication line. [4]
On July 18, 2013, eigoMANGA screened the animated film Padak at the Comic-Con International Independent Film Festival. [5] The movie was later distributed on Steam on June 6, 2016. [6]
Rumble Pak is an anthology comic book series showcasing original comics created by artists from around the world including a line-up of original stories. Rumble Pak is eigoMANGA's first commercial comic book publication and is considered its flagship product. The first edition of Rumble Pak was released to comic book stores domestically and internationally in February 2004 and the publication was re-released to North American mainstream media stores in October 2004.
Sakura Pakk is a bi-monthly anthology comic book series highlighting original comics stories created for female comic book readers. Sakura Pakk was released in November 2004.

Girlamatic was a webcomic subscription service launched by Joey Manley and Lea Hernandez in March 2003. It was the third online magazine Manley established as part of his Modern Tales family of websites. Girlamatic was created as a place where both female artists and readers could feel comfortable and featured a diverse mix of genres. When the site launched, the most recent webcomic pages and strips were free, and the website's archives were available by subscription. The editorial role was held by Hernandez from 2003 until 2006, when it was taken over by Arcana Jayne-creator Lisa Jonté, one of the site's original artists. In 2009, Girlamatic was relaunched as a free digital magazine, this time edited by Spades-creator Diana McQueen. The archives of the webcomics that ran on Girlamatic remained freely available until the website was discontinued in 2013.
Lea Hernandez is an American comic book and webcomic creator, known primarily for working in a manga-influenced style, and for doing lettering and touch-ups on manga imports. She is the co-creator of Killer Princesses, written by Gail Simone and published by Oni Press; and the creator of Rumble Girls from NBM Publishing.
Svetlana Chmakova is a Russian-Canadian comic book artist. She is best known for Dramacon, an original English-language (OEL) manga spanning three volumes and published in North America by Tokyopop. Nightmares for Sale, is a Japanese manga series written and illustrated by Kaoru Ohashi. Nightmares for Sale is a series of short stories that feature Shadow and Maria, a duo who run a pawnshop with items for those in need. Things quickly turn horrific however, when unsuspecting customers get more than what they bargained for. The two volume series was published in Japan by Asahi Sonorama, with the first volume released in January 2002 and the second following in February. It is licensed for an English language release in North America by Aurora Publishing. The English adaptation received mixed reviews with some reviews calling them a good group of horror stories, while others cite the poor quality of them.
Megan Rose Gedris is a mostly self-taught American cartoonist, writer, and publisher whose most well-known comics include YU+ME:dream and I Was Kidnapped By Lesbian Pirates From Outer Space. They are commonly regarded for writing about the advancement of women, LGBTQIAP+, sex and body-positivity within their work.
God Drug is a science fiction graphic novel by Stephen Antczak that has been reviewed as being "1 part Apocalypse Now, 1 part Salvador Dali, 2 parts The Trip, 1 pinch each of The Terminator, Mary Poppins, and Silence of the Lambs...marinade in equal parts alcohol and your favorite loud music." The novel was adapted into a comic and released in 2009. The novel is modern science fiction that was published in 2004 as Antczak's first novel.
Nina Matsumoto is a Japanese-Canadian cartoonist, also known as "space coyote", and most known for creating the comic book series Yōkaiden for Del Rey Manga. She created the webcomic Saturnalia, and has worked as a penciller on Simpsons Comics and The Last Airbender Prequel: Zuko's Story graphic novel. She is also the artist and co-creator of Sparks!, a graphic novel series for Scholastic Books.
Hooky is a fantasy adventure webcomic written and illustrated by Spanish author Míriam Bonastre Tur. Originally serialized as a webtoon on Naver Corporation's Webtoon app from 2015 to 2020, Hooky was eventually released in print by Houghton Mifflin Harcourt in 2021.
