Eileen Mary Ann Hurly (born 6 May 1932) is a South African former cricketer who played as a batter. She appeared in four Test matches for South Africa between in 1960 and 1961,all against England,scoring 240 runs including a top-score of 96* in her first Test. She was particularly strong playing the square cut. [1] She played domestic cricket for Southern Transvaal. [2] [3]
Born to James William,Eileen Hurly attended the Dominican Convent in Benoni. During her first league match in 1947,aged only 13,she hit the first recorded century in women's cricket in South Africa. [4] She made her provincial debut for Southern Transvaal later that year. [4] She continued to set records,and in 1953/54,she made the first recorded inter-provincial century,scoring 106*. [4]
During the English tour of South Africa,Hurly was South Africa's most prolific run-scorer,consistently out-scoring her teammates. In each of the first three Tests of the series she top-scored for South Africa in the first-innings,posting scores of 37 [5] and 29 [6] after narrowly missing out on a century in the opening match. [7]
In 1968–69 South Africa were due to play England again,but at the last minute the English were unable to fulfil the fixtures and a Dutch women's cricket team toured South Africa instead. [4] Hurly was named captain of the South African squad for this tour, [8] which South Africa whitewashed. [4] During this series,Hurly was involved in a 124 run partnership with Jennifer Gove made in under an hour. [8]
By the end of her playing career,Hurly had made over 100 appearances provincially,served on the Transvaal executive committee and the South African and Rhodesian Women's Cricket Association. [4]

A member of a famous cricketing family,Pollock is widely regarded as one of South Africa's greatest ever cricketers,and as one of the greatest batsmen in the history of cricket. Despite Pollock's international career being cut short at the age of 26 by the sporting boycott of South Africa,and all but one of his 23 Test matches being against England and Australia,the leading cricket nations of the day,he broke a number of records. His completed career Test match batting average of 60.97 remains the third best behind Sir Don Bradman and Adam Voges.

Cri-Zelda Brits,also written Crizelda Brits and Cri-zelda Brits is a South African cricketer. A right-handed batsman and right-arm medium-fast bowler,Brits was originally called up to the South Africa national women's cricket team as an opening bowler in 2002. She developed into an all-rounder,and since 2005 has established herself as a specialist batsman. She captained South Africa in 23 matches in 2007 and 2008,but was replaced as captain in 2009 in order to "concentrate entirely on her own performance." She was reappointed as captain for the 2010 ICC Women's World Twenty20. Between 2007 and 2011 she captain South Africa a total of 36 times.
