El Hijo del Pantera [1] (born December 18, 1991) is a Mexican luchador (professional wrestler). He currently wrestles on the Mexican independent circuit and has also wrestled in Japan for promotions such as Pro Wrestling Noah and Wrestle-1. His real name is not a matter of public record, as is often the case with masked wrestlers in Mexico, where their private lives are kept a secret from the wrestling fans. [2] El Hijo del Pantera is the cousin of luchador Último Gladiador, and the son of Pantera. [3]

Professional wrestling career

On October 6, 2013, El Hijo del Pantera debuted for Wrestle-1 (W-1), defeating Daiki Inaba. [4] On November 16, Andy Wu debuted for W-1, teaming with Inaba and El Hijo del Pantera to defeat Hiroshi Yamato, Mazada and Nosawa Rongai. [5] From his debut, Wu feuded with Tokyo Gurentai's Mazada and regularly teamed with El Hijo del Pantera. Wu and El Hijo del Pantera moved onto feuding with Novus, a stable off wrestlers from the defunct Wrestling New Classic (WNC). At Total Nonstop Action Wrestling's Bound for Glory, Wu and El Hijo del Pantera lost to Jiro Kuroshio and Yusuke Kodama. [6] On February 13, 2015, after Wu and El Hijo del Pantera lost to Kazma Sakamoto and Koji Doi, the pair argued which ultimately led to El Hijo del Pantera joining the Desperado stable. [7] They briefly feuded; El Hijo del Pantera defeated Wu in the opening round of the tournament to crown the first Wrestle-1 Cruiser Division Champion, [8] [9] but it came to an end on June 20 when the pair shook hands after Wu defeated El Hijo del Pantera. [10]

On July 19, Los Panteras, who consisted of El Hijo del Pantera and his father El Pantera, defeated Hijo de Máscara Año 2000 and Universo 2000 Jr. in the finals of an eight-team tournament to win the vacant IWRG Intercontinental Tag Team Championship. [11] On September 16, they lost the IWRG tag team titles to Los Gringos VIP (Apolo Estrada Jr. and El Hijo del Diablo) in a Steel cage match that also included Los Traumas . [12] Los Panteras regained the titles from Los Gringos VIP on November 22. [13] They held the titles until September 16, 2016 when they lost them to Chicano and Veneno. [14]

In May 2018, El Hijo del Pantera returned to Wrestle-1 and teamed with Andy Wu and Alejandro to unsuccessfully challenge Tokyo Gurentai for the UWA World Trios Championship. [15] He also participated in the 2018 Global Junior Heavyweight Tag League, where he teamed up with Ricky Marvin and competing against teams as Ikuto Hidaka and Takuya Sugawara, and Junta Miyawaki and Seiya Morohashi, finishing with six points. [16] From September 18 to October 24, Wu and El Hijo del Pantera participated in the 2018 Wrestle-1 Tag League but failed to win their block. After successful defending his Wrestle-1 Cruiser Division Championship against El Lindaman on May 13, Wu lost the title to his friend and tag team partner El Hijo del Pantera on September 1. [17] On December 26, El Hijo del Pantera lost the title to Seiki Yoshioka. [18] [19]

On February 29, 2020, Wrestle-1 announced that they would be holding their final event on April 1, with all members of the roster being released from their contracts the day prior. [20] [21]

Francisco Javier Pozas is a Mexican professional wrestler, or luchador, who is best known under the ring name El Pantera, but has also worked as Pantera II, El Manaya, América, Tritón and Tanaka over the years. Pozas made his wrestling debut in 1985, working as an enmascarado with a panther-inspired mask to go with his ring character of "El Pantera". Over the years Pozas has worked in Mexico, Japan and the United States; In Mexico he has worked for Consejo Mundial de Lucha Libre (CMLL), Asistencia Asesoría y Administración (AAA), International Wrestling Revolution Group (IWRG), in Japan he's worked for Universal Lucha Libre (ULL) and All-Japan Pro Wrestling (AJPW) and in the United States he's most known for his work in the World Wrestling Federation (WWF) from 1997 to 1999 and Chikara where he has worked shows since 2007. In 2006 Pantera lost his mask as a result of a match. He, however, continued wearing the mask when working for Chikara and in 2011 also began wearing it again in Mexico.

Antheus Ortiz Chávez, better known under the ring name Hijo de Pirata Morgan, is a Mexican luchador, or professional wrestler, currently working for the Mexican professional wrestling promotion International Wrestling Revolution Group (IWRG) portraying a tecnico wrestling character. Hijo de Pirata Morgan's real name was not a matter of public record until March 16, 2013, where he lost his wrestling mask and had to reveal his real name. This is often the case with masked wrestlers in Mexico where their private lives are kept a secret from the wrestling fans while they are masked. He is legitimately the son of professional wrestler Pedro Ortiz Villanueva, better known as Pirata Morgan, and not a storyline family relationship as it sometimes the case in Lucha Libre.

Cien Caras Jr. is a Mexican luchador enmascarado, or masked professional wrestler, currently working for the Mexican professional wrestling promotion International Wrestling Revolution Group (IWRG) portraying a rudo wrestling character. Cien Caras Jr.'s real name is not a matter of public record, as is often the case with masked wrestlers in Mexico where their private lives are kept a secret from the wrestling fans. He is not a blood relative of wrestler Cien Caras, but instead is using the ring name with permission from Cien Caras.

Rafael Ernesto Medina Baeza, better known under the ring name Veneno ("Venom"), is a Panamanian luchador, or professional wrestler, living in Mexico and currently working for the Mexican professional wrestling promotion International Wrestling Revolution Group (IWRG) portraying a tecnico wrestling character. He is related through marriage to the extended Casas wrestling family as his sister, also a wrestler under the ring name Dalys La Caribeña, is married to Negro Casas.

Juan Carlos Gonzales, better known under the ring name El Hijo del Diablo, is a Mexican luchador, or professional wrestler, currently working on the Mexican Independent circuit and has regularly worked for International Wrestling Revolution Group (IWRG) portraying a rudo wrestling character. He is a founding member of the IWRG group Los Gringos VIP.

Tokyo Gurentai is a professional wrestling stable, currently made up of Fujita, Kikuzawa, Mazada, and Nosawa Rongai. The group was formed in 2000 by Kikuzawa, Mazada and Nosawa and has since appeared for Japan's four biggest promotions; All Japan Pro Wrestling, Dragon Gate, New Japan Pro-Wrestling and Pro Wrestling Noah, as well as several larger independent promotions such DDT Pro-Wrestling, Diamond Ring, Kaientai Dojo, Osaka Pro Wrestling and Wrestling New Classic (WNC), while also regularly producing their own independent events. Javier Espinosa Romero is a Mexican luchador, or masked professional wrestler, best known under the ring name Tony Rivera. As Rivera he is currently working on the Mexican professional wrestling independent circuit portraying a tecnico wrestling character. Rivera worked for Consejo Mundial de Lucha Libre (CMLL) for over 10 years, followed by him working on the Mexican independent circuit, particularly for International Wrestling Revolution Group (IWRG) and International Wrestling League (IWL). He originally worked as an Enmascarado or masked wrestler under the ring names Paris and Renegado but has used the name Tony Rivera since 1996. Following his departure from CMLL he became an advocate for wrestlers rights and pay, including Rivera organizing a blockade of one of CMLL's major shows, the 2011 Juicio Final.

El Legado Final (2015) was a major annual professional wrestling event produced by Mexican professional wrestling promotion International Wrestling Revolution Group (IWRG), which took place on August 2, 2014 in Arena Naucalpan, Naucalpan, State of Mexico, Mexico. The main event of the show was the Torneo de Legado Final, a 12-man Torneo cibernetico. The match will have six teams compete where all teams were made up of fathers and sons teaming together. While there are examples of some wrestlers paying to be a "junior" of an established wrestler it is believed that all wrestlers billed as sons actually were sons, but with five of the six being masked it has not been definitely verified. For the show Cien Caras Jr. was brought in to replace his uncle Máscara Año 2000 who was advertised for the show but could not make it.

IWRG has previously promoted shows using variations of the name Sin Escape such as La Guerra sin Escape but this event was not turned into a regular themed event.

The 2015 version of the event was the ninth overall show IWRG has held under the Caravana de Campeones banner. As the name indicates the focal point of the show was the various championships promoted by IWRG as every match was for a championship.

He is the son of professional wrestler Apolo Estrada and has worked for Consejo Mundial de Lucha Libre (CMLL), International Wrestling Revolution Group (IWRG) as well as working for many professional wrestling promotions on the Mexican independent circuit. From 2009 to 2015 he was a member of a wrestling group known as Los Gringos VIP and currently forms a team known as Los Insportables with Eterno.

The first Legado Final show was held on June 2, 2011 at IWRG's main venue Arena Naucalpan, with a second held in 2012 and a third show held in 2015. The event celebrates, or pays tribute to, the fact that lucha libre is a family tradition with a main event tournament where fathers and sons team up for a tag team elimination match.
