El Hombre is the second studio album by dominican dembow artist El Alfa, released on November 2, 2018 by the independent label El Jefe Records. [1] It contains 14 tracks of Dembow and Latin Trap and incorporates elements of dancehall, reggae, and hip-hop. It also includes remixes of the hits "Suave" and "Lo que yo diga". [2] It features guest appearances from Cardi B, Anuel AA, Bryant Myers, Jon Z, Miky Woodz, Noriel, Plan B, Miky Woodz, Farruko, La Kikada, Mozart La Para & El Shick. The album was supported by the release of nine singles: "Mi Mami", "Pa Jamaica", "Con Silenciador", "Suave" (remix), "Sientate en ese deo", "Lo que yo diga" (remix), "Puñala de Carne" and "Uzi".
The lead single "Mi mami" featuring Cardi B, produced by Chael, became his first song to debut inside the US Hot Latin Songs at number 42. [3] [4] [5] However, it received backlash by critics and fans alike due to the musical structure. Many observed that the track should have been Dembow instead of dancehall. [6] [7]
El Hombre became his first album to debut inside the Top 10 of the US Billboard Top Latin Albums chart at number 7, and peaked at number 6 at the US Latin Rhythm Albums, selling over 2,000 in the first week. [8] Following the success of the album, El Alfa won Best Urban Artist at the 35th annual Soberano Awards. [9] [10] To promote the album, El Alfa embarked on a US Tour titled El Animal Tour.

Raulín Marte Rodríguez is a Dominican bachata artist. He is one of the first major bachata artists to have international success. As a pioneer of the bachata genre, he helped grow the genre's popularity in the 1990s. While traditional bachata songs were often risque and suggestive, Raulín Rodríguez's idealized romantic lyrics widened the appeal of the genre of bachata, helping it get regular radio play. Rodriguez is known as "El Cacique" and is one of the most established musicians to ever come from the Dominican Republic. "Dem Bow" is a song performed by Jamaican reggae artist Shabba Ranks, produced by Bobby Digital. This song uses the "Ku-Klung-Klung"/"Poco Man Jam" riddim created by Jamaican producers Steely & Clevie in the late 1980s. The lyrics are anti-imperialist and also anti-homosexual, as Ranks compares those who perform sodomy to those who submit to colonialism.

Emanuel Herrera Batista, known by his stage name El Alfa or El Alfa El Jefe, is a Dominican rapper known as the King of Dembow. Batista was born in Bajos de Haina, Santo Domingo. He is known for his initial afro hairstyle which led him to popularity in the early 2010s through songs like "Tarzan", "Coche Bomba" and "Muevete Jevi". He went on to form good relationships with many artists from Puerto Rico, such as Nicky Jam, Farruko, and Myke Towers amongst others. This resulted in one of the biggest collaborations in dembow history, led by El Alfa, when he released "Suave (Remix)" in December 2018 alongside Chencho Corleone, Bryant Myers, Miky Woodz, Jon Z and Noriel.

"Bombón" is a song by Puerto Rican rapper Daddy Yankee with Dominican rapper El Alfa and American rapper Lil Jon. The La Leyenda del Dembow Tour was the first world tour by Dominican dembow superstar El Alfa in support of his studio albums El Androide (2020) and Sabiduria (2022). The tour consisted on three legs. The first leg, was his the first arena tour on the United States, the second on a series of music festivals on Europe and concluded in Santo Domingo, Dominican Republic. The tour included a sellout concert in New York, Madison Square Garden which receive positive reviews by critics becoming the first Dominican urban act to do so. On July 16, El Alfa performed at Estadio Olimpico in Santo Domingo, in front of 50,000 fans, becoming just the seventh Dominican act to sold out the venue and the first urban act to do so.
Ángel Rosario, known by his stage name Ángel Dior, is a Dominican rapper and singer. Rosario was born in Santo Domingo, Dominican Republic. He was awarded in the Heat Latin Music Awards and Premios Juventud in the categories; Best Dominican Urban Artist, and Best Dembow Collaboration. He has collaborated with Rauw Alejandro, Karol G, 6ix9ine, El Alfa, Chimbala and Bad Bunny.
Dominican dembow, also known as simply dembow, is a style of music originating from the Dominican Republic which has been mostly described as a subgenre or derivative form of reggaeton. Dominican dembow is characterized by its use of a sped-up dembow rhythm as its core percussion element.
