Electro Quarterstaff is an instrumental metal band hailing from Winnipeg, Manitoba, Canada. They play a form of progressive/technical heavy metal and employ three lead guitarists. Initially consisting of just three guitarists and a drummer, [2] they added a bassist to their line-up in winter 2006 and played their first show with him in autumn 2007. The band is named for a weapon in the Canadian cartoon Rocket Robin Hood . [3]
The band self-released the Swayze EP in 2004. They later signed with Willowtip Records for their debut full-length album in 2006, Gretzky , [4] which included rerecorded and reworked versions of their earlier tracks. Also in 2006 they toured the United States and Canada for the first time, [5] which included a performance at the Maryland Deathfest. [6]
Agoraphobic Nosebleed is an American grindcore band formed in 1994 in Springfield, Massachusetts, United States. Its line-up has changed often over the years, with guitarist and drum programmer Scott Hull being the only continuous member. The current line-up includes vocalist Jay Randall, and Richard Johnson of Enemy Soil and Drugs of Faith, along with John Jarvis of Pig Destroyer and Fulgora on bass guitar. Agoraphobic Nosebleed is one of the most well-known drum-machine grindcore bands, and has influenced many drum-machine grindcore bands.
