Elena Maroulleti is a Greek Cypriot American independent journalist/reporter and founder of AKTINA FM, the second Internet radio streaming online to emerge in the world and of AKTINA TV, the first English language Greek American TV show established in New York. Maroulleti comes from the town Varosha of the coastal city of Famagusta, Cyprus. She studied at the London College of Secretaries and later at the Fashion Institute of Technology in New York through a scholarship from her employer American Broadcasting Company (ABC). [6] [7]
Maroulleti worked at Teachers Insurance and Annuity Association in the Annuity Department and at ABC in the Personnel Department and the News Department. She has produced for AKTINA TV over 100 mini documentaries and stories on the cultures, history and ancient sites of Cyprus and Greece and about the Greek American and Greek Cypriot American community. In 1993, she founded and established AKTINA FM, the first Greek American radio outlet to introduce online streaming and the second online Internet Radio to emerge in the world. [10] [11] [4]
In 2002, she founded and established AKTINA TV, the first and only English-language Greek American Television program available in New York on a local channel (WNYE Channel 25). [12] [13] [14] [15] [16] [17] [18]
In October 2023, Maroulleti was honored as “Personality of the Year” by the international magazine Yessiey at the “Yessiey Awards 2023” which celebrated women “Innovators and Change-Makers.” [19] [20] [21]
Famagusta, also known by several other names, is a city on the east coast of the de facto state Northern Cyprus. It is located east of Nicosia and possesses the deepest harbour of the island. During the Middle Ages, Famagusta was the island's most important port city and a gateway to trade with the ports of the Levant, from where the Silk Road merchants carried their goods to Western Europe. The old walled city and parts of the modern city are de facto part of Northern Cyprus as the capital of the Gazimağusa District.

Ernie Anastos is a New York Emmy award winning television news anchor and talk show host on WABC with Positively Ernie focusing on uplifting stories and interviews. He is also a children’s author and host of his own nationally syndicated TV show, Positively America. He has anchored the evening news at three flagship network stations in New York; ABC 7, CBS 2 and FOX 5. In 2017, New York City Mayor Bill de Blasio honored Anastos by designating every March 21 to be Ernie Anastos Day.
Cyprus participated in the Eurovision Song Contest 2005 with the song "Ela Ela ", which was written and performed by Constantinos Christoforou. Christoforou was internally selected by the Cyprus Broadcasting Corporation (CyBC) in November 2004 to represent the nation at the 2005 contest in Kyiv, Ukraine. His song was selected through a national final, which was organised by CyBC and took place on 1 February 2005. The national final featured four songs performed by Christoforou and resulted in the selection of "Ela Ela " through a combination of public televote and jury deliberation.

Vrisko To Logo Na Zo is the third Greek-language studio album and fifth studio album overall by Greek singer Helena Paparizou, released on June 12, 2008 by Sony BMG Greece. It was the first time that "DON - K" had produced the entire album and that Paparizou had contributed to an album both musically and lyrically. It was also the first time that a duet was included on one of her solo albums.

Ivi Adamou is a Greek Cypriot singer. She was born and raised in Agia Napa, Cyprus and currently resides in Alexandroupoli, Greece. Adamou rose to recognition in Greece and Cyprus following her participation in the second season of the Greek version of The X Factor, where she was under the mentorship of Giorgos Theofanous. Right after her elimination from the X Factor, Adamou secured a recording contract with Sony Music Greece. She gained further recognition from her participation in the Eurovision Song Contest 2012, where she represented Cyprus with the song "La La Love".

Dimitra Papadea, known professionally as Demy, is a Greek singer. She is signed with the Greek independent label Panik Records. She has released two studio albums, "#1" in 2012, which became platinum and "Rodino Oniro" in 2014, which became gold. In 2017, she released "Demy", a collection of all of her English songs and later she released the album "Kontra" including two new songs and older songs and collaborations that had not been included in an album up to that time. Demy has achieved 8 No.1 songs and 2 No.1 EPs at the Greek charts so far. She also combined music and acting by having taken part in 5 musicals from 2012 to 2017.
Greece participated in the Eurovision Song Contest 2015 with the song "One Last Breath", written by Efthivoulos Theocharous, Maria Elena Kyriakou, Vaggelis Konstantinidis and Evelina Tziora and performed by Kyriakou.
