Who Wants to Be a Millionaire? is an international television game show franchise of British origin, created by David Briggs, Mike Whitehill and Steven Knight. In its format, currently owned and licensed by Sony Pictures Television, contestants tackle a series of multiple-choice questions to win large cash prizes in a format that twists on many game show genre conventions – only one contestant plays at a time, similar to radio quizzes; contestants are given the question before deciding whether to answer, and have no time limit to answer questions; and the amount offered increases as they tackle questions that become increasingly difficult. The maximum cash prize offered in most versions of the format is an aspirational value in local currency, such as one million pounds in the UK or 75 million rupees in India.
Press Your Luck is an American television game show created by Bill Carruthers and Jan McCormack. On each episode, contestants answer trivia questions to earn "spins" on a randomly cycling game board whose spaces display cash, prizes, extra spins, special items, or the show's mascot, a cartoon creature known as the Whammy. Landing on a Whammy eliminates any cash and prizes accumulated while also displaying a short comedic animation. Its format is a revival of an earlier Carruthers production, Second Chance, which was hosted by Jim Peck and aired on ABC in 1977. The original version of Press Your Luck aired on CBS between 1983 and 1986. This version featured Peter Tomarken as host, Rod Roddy as announcer, and Carruthers as both director and voice of the Whammy.
Whose Line is it Anyway? is a short-form improvisational comedy television series created by Dan Patterson and Mark Leveson, presented by Clive Anderson, and produced for Channel 4 between 23 September 1988 and 4 February 1999. The programme's format was on a panel of four performers conducting a series of short-form improvisation games, creating comedic scenes per pre-determined situations made by the host or from suggestions by the audience. Such games include creating sound effects, performing a scene to different television and film styles, using props, and making up a song on the spot. The programme originally began as a short-lived BBC radio programme, before the concept was adapted for television.

Playing It Straight is an American reality television series broadcast by the Fox Broadcasting Company (Fox). The series premiered on March 12, 2004, although it was abruptly cancelled by the network following the broadcast of its third episode on March 26, 2004. Filmed in Elko, Nevada, at the Sizzling Saddle Ranch, the series followed Jackie Thomas, a 21-year-old college student, as she was pursued by a group of fourteen men. Upon arrival to the ranch, it was revealed to Thomas that the group consisted of both straight and gay men. Through a series of individual and group dates, Thomas was required to eliminate men from the competition who she believed identified as gay. If Thomas ultimately selected a straight man, then the two split a reward of $1,000,000. However, if Thomas selected a gay man, he alone won the reward. The series was hosted by American television presenter Daphne Brogdon.
Jaleel Ahmad White is an American actor. He is best known for his role as Steve Urkel on the sitcom Family Matters. The character was originally intended to be a one-time guest appearance on the show; however, he was an instant hit with audiences and White became a regular cast member. The series aired for a total of nine seasons, from 1989 to 1997 on ABC, mostly on its Friday night TGIF lineup, and from 1997 to 1998 on CBS, again on Friday nights, via their short-lived CBS Block Party attempt. White then reprised his role as Urkel for the first time in 21 years in the 2019 series Scooby-Doo and Guess Who?.
I've Got a Secret is an American panel game show produced by Mark Goodson and Bill Todman for CBS television. Created by comedy writers Allan Sherman and Howard Merrill, it was a derivative of Goodson–Todman's own panel show, What's My Line?. Instead of celebrity panelists trying to determine a contestant's occupation, however, as in What's My Line, the panel tried to determine a contestant's secret: something that is unusual, amazing, embarrassing, or humorous about that person.
Pelaaja ("Gamer") is a Finnish video games magazine published 11 times a year by H-Town. Pelaaja turned 15 years old in 2017. Pelaaja covers both PCs and consoles, although between 2003 and 2007 it focused only on consoles. During that time the PC coverage was in a separate magazine named PCPelaaja, now defunct. Its editor-in-chief was Miika Huttunen, who is the current editor-in-chief of Pelaaja.

In its prime it was the first interactive TV channel in the world. At its best MoonTV could reach 1.3 million potential viewers in the 12 biggest cities across Finland. In 2003 the channel was shut down after the company that owned it filed for bankruptcy.

If an incorrect answer is given, the contestant will leave with whatever cash prize is guaranteed by the last safety net they have passed, unless they opt to walk away before answering the next question with the money the cash prize they had managed to reach. To assist in the quiz, contestants are given a series of "lifelines" to help answer questions.

Miika Huttunen is the editor-in-chief of the Finnish gaming magazine Pelaaja. Prior to this he was a host of certain game-related television programmes primarily on the now defunct MoonTV cable channel. He became recognised for hosting Peliuutiset and continued hosting related topics on the more important shows such as Player and PC-Peliluola. He also hosted URL, infamously one of the last 15-minute shows on the channel alongside current editor-in-chief of Pelaaja, Thomas Puha. Unlike all other shows that Huttunen was in, URL was dedicated to the showing off and reviewing and/or insulting of web sites sent by fans.
Tilt is a Finnish video gaming programme aired primarily on MTV3. It started out in 1997 on MTV3 and was also seen on Sub, Jim, Fox and briefly on Nelonen. Currently the programme is aired on Kutonen. Tilt.tv was originally hosted by Jaana Pelkonen, who more recently hosted the Eurovision Song Contest 2007 in Helsinki together with Mikko Leppilampi. After Pelkonen the host was Anna-Maija Jalkanen from 2005 to the spring of 2007 after Jalkanen the host was Kristiina Wheeler from 2007 to 2008, and after Wheeler the host was Anni Uusivirta from 2011 to 2013. The current host is Martina Kuitto. Simo Kurki hosted alongside Kuitto from 2013 to 2015. The show has had continuing success and has been exported to Poland and other countries.
