Elisa Roner (born 4 July 2001) [1] is an Italian archer competing in compound events. She won the gold medal in the women's compound event at the 2023 European Games held in Poland. [1] She won the silver medal in her event at the 2024 European Archery Championships held in Essen, Germany. [2]
Roner, Camilla Alberti and Erica Benzini won the bronze medal in the junior women's team compound event at the 2017 European Indoor Archery Championships held in Vittel, France. [3] She also competed in the junior women's compound event. [3] Roner won two medals at the 2018 World Indoor Archery Championships held in Yankton, United States. [4] She won the silver medal in the junior women's individual compound event and the bronze medal in the junior women's team compound event, alongside Elisa Bazzichetto and Sara Ret. [4]
Roner won two gold medals in junior events at the 2019 European Indoor Archery Championships held in Samsun, Turkey. [5] In that same year, she won the bronze medal in the junior women's compound event at the 2019 World Archery Youth Championships held in Madrid, Spain. [6] In 2021, Roner competed at the World Archery Championships held in Yankton, United States. [7] She competed in the women's compound and women's team compound events. [7] In the individual event, she was eliminated in her second match by Natalia Avdeeva of Russia and in the team event, the Italian team was eliminated by France in the first match of the elimination round. Roner, Irene Franchini and Marcella Tonioli won the bronze medal in the women's team compound event at the 2022 European Indoor Archery Championships held in Laško, Slovenia. [8] Sara Ret, Marcella Tonioli and Elisa Roner won the silver medal in the women's team compound event at the 2022 European Archery Championships held in Munich, Germany. Albina Nikolayevna Loginova is a Russian compound archer. She was the World Archery number one in women's compound archery, achieving it on 9 July 2013. She now serves as a coach.
Mike Schloesser is a compound archer from the Netherlands. In 2015, he was the first person to hit a perfect 600/600, hence his nickname Mister Perfect. In December 2023 he surpassed Sara López as the longest-tenured world number one. Both had been in the top three since the beginning of the 2015 season. Schloesser had been holding the number one position in the world ranking since 24 May 2021. In March 2024 he broke the record for the longest consecutive days ranked number one.
