Rory Garton-Smith, better known by his stage name Elk Road, is an Australian musician and record producer from Perth. He began remixing tracks from Carmada, Kaskade, Britney Spears and Charli XCX which were uploaded to his SoundCloud account. [1] [2] His debut single "Not to Worry" was released in September 2015 and received high rotation on Triple J. [3] Additional remixes were released in March 2016. His Charli XCX remix of Boom Clap was then used by her during her 2016 arena world tour.[ citation needed ]

In 2015, Elk Road spoke at the EMC conference on a Copyright Law panel in Sydney.[ citation needed ]

In 2016, Natalie Foster was featured on the track "Hanging by a Thread" which was later featured in the Triple J Hottest 100, 2016 as one of only three Western Australian tracks to make it in. It was the most played song on Triple J in the month of October 2016. "Hanging by a Thread" was issued as a single with remix versions: Original, Husky, Just a Gent and Flowidus; it peaked at No. 22 on the ARIA Club Tracks chart. [4]

Elk Road has performed at Splendour in the Grass and has been nominated for Most Popular New Act at the West Australian Music Industry Awards. [5]

His Triple J Like a Version of Flight Facilities song "Crave You" was one of the most viewed of 2016 with 2 million streams across YouTube and Facebook.[ citation needed ]

His track Lights was featured in an Australian Carlton Dry commercial that was broadcast over YouTube and Facebook.[ citation needed ]

In February 2017, Elk Road joined Porter Robinson and Madeon on the Australian dates of their Shelter Live Tour.[ citation needed ]

English singer Charli XCX has released four studio albums, four mixtapes, three extended plays, one live album, one DJ mix, 46 singles, and 13 promotional singles. In 2007, XCX began recording her debut album on a loan granted by her parents. Titled 14, after her age at the time, it received only a restricted public release. Two singles, "!Franchesckaar!" and double A-side "Emelline"/"Art Bitch", were released in late 2008 under Orgy Music. In June 2012, Charli XCX released her first original mixtape, titled Heartbreaks and Earthquakes, a one-track file consisting of eight songs. A second mixtape, titled Super Ultra, was released in November of the same year. Charli XCX's major-label debut studio album, True Romance, was released in April 2013, and peaked at number 85 on the UK Albums Chart. "Spicy" is a song by French musician Herve Pagez and American producer Diplo, featuring vocals by English singer-songwriter Charli XCX. The song was released on 30 May 2019 by the Mad Decent record label. "Spicy" heavily interpolates the song "Wannabe" by English girl group Spice Girls, from their first album Spice (1996). The Spice Girls are, therefore, credited as songwriters for the track, alongside Charli XCX, Emmanuel Valere, Joel Jaccoulet and "Wannabe" co-writers Matt Rowe and Richard Stannard. "Spicy" was produced by Pagez and Diplo.
