Ellie Charlotte Dadd (born 15 March 2005) is an English actress, known for portraying the role of Amy Mitchell on the BBC soap opera EastEnders since 2022.
Ellie Charlotte Dadd was born on 15 March 2005 in Bromley, Kent. [1] [2] She has been training at the D&B Academy of Performing Arts since she was a child. [3] [4] [5] In 2013, at the age of eight, Dadd made her acting debut as Sophia in the short film Lipstick, about a brother and sister playing at their grandma's house until they realise she has died and have to deal with her death on their own. [6] [7] In 2016, Dadd played Amanda Thripp in the West End production of Matilda the Musical . [8] [9]
In January 2020, Dadd appeared in two episodes of the BBC crime drama Silent Witness as Cat Shaw, the daughter of Jenny and Robbie, the former of whom is found dead on the train tracks and is later found to be the victim of domestic violence at the hands of Cat's father. [10] [11] In March 2022, Dadd appeared in the first episode of the seventh series of ITV detective drama Grantchester . [12]
In August 2022, Dadd joined the cast of the BBC soap opera EastEnders as Amy Mitchell. [13] [14] She took over the role from Abbie Burke, who had played the part of Amy for eight years, with bosses deciding to recast the character to allow the writers to tackle more sensitive and mature storylines. [15] [16] [17] Early into Dadd's tenure, the character of Amy was placed at the centre of a self-harm storyline which results in her being hospitalised and subsequently attending therapy sessions. EastEnders is a British television soap opera created by Julia Smith and Tony Holland which has been broadcast on BBC One since February 1985. Set in the fictional borough of Walford in the East End of London, the programme follows the stories of local residents and their families as they go about their daily lives. Four EastEnders episodes are listed in the all-time top 10 most-watched programmes in the UK, including the number one spot, when over 30 million watched the 1986 Christmas Day episode. Lacey Amelia Turner is an English actress. With a career spanning two decades, she made her acting debut in the television soap opera EastEnders for her role of Stacey Slater, a character she initially played between 2004 and 2010 before returning in 2014.
Sam Mitchell is a fictional character from the BBC soap opera EastEnders. The third member of the Mitchell family to appear on the soap, Sam was introduced as a 15-year-old schoolgirl in July 1990, originally played by Danniella Westbrook. Westbrook quit in 1993, but Sam reappeared from 1995 to 1996 and from 1999 to 2000. In both stints, Sam was written out earlier than the producers intended due to off-screen controversies surrounding Westbrook. In January 2002, Sam was introduced for a fourth time, but the role was recast to Kim Medcalf, who stayed in the role until November 2005. Diederick Santer later decided to reintroduce Sam for a brief stint in 2009 and opted to bring Westbrook back. Westbrook briefly reprised the role once again in 2016 for the funeral of Sam's mother Peggy Mitchell. In January 2022, it was announced that Sam would be returning to the show, this time played by Medcalf again. Medcalf’s return scenes aired on 18 April 2022. Medcalf took an extended break from the show in 2023, with Sam departing on 13 April 2023 and returning seven months later on 21 November 2023. On 18 January 2024, Sam made an unannounced departure from the show following Medcalf's decision to leave indefinitely.

Roxanne Lizette "Roxy" Mitchell is a fictional character from the BBC soap opera EastEnders, portrayed by Rita Simons. Roxy arrived in Walford with her sister Ronnie on 24 July 2007 and decides to move permanently to Walford from Ibiza where they ran a bar together. Roxy is the younger of the two sisters. She is described as the "fire", as opposed to Ronnie's "ice". Simons took a temporary hiatus in 2016, with Roxy off screen from 1 January until 4 May 2016. Following the announcement that Womack would be leaving the series, Simons' departure was also announced. Roxy departed the series in scenes broadcast on 1 January 2017, when she drowned in a hotel swimming pool along with Ronnie. Simons returned in 2019 to record a voiceover as Roxy, which was broadcast on 3 May 2019. A younger version of Roxy, played by Elodie de Rohan Willner, appeared in a flashback episode broadcast on 5 September 2022, which focuses on the Mitchell family in the 1970s. Simons reprised her role on 27 April 2023 for a one-off appearance as a hallucination to her daughter, Amy Mitchell.

The Slater family are a fictional family from the BBC soap opera EastEnders, that have appeared since Episode 1,997, first broadcast in September 2000. The family are introduced as a central family unit, originally consisting of father Charlie Slater, grandmother Mo Harris, Charlie's daughters, Kat Slater, Lynne Slater, Little Mo Morgan and Kat's teenage daughter Zoe Slater, and Lynne's partner Garry Hobbs.
