Elmadağ is a quarter in Şişli, Istanbul, Turkey.

Among well-known buildings in the quarter are five-star hotels like Ritz-Carlton and Hilton Istanbul Bosphorus, and along Cumhuriyet Caddesi many foreign airlines have their offices. [1] The Surp Agop (Saint Jacob) Armenian Hospital is also on the same avenue.

Galata

Altımermer is a quarter located in the European part of Istanbul, Turkey. It is located in the western part of the district of Fatih. Although it is difficult to define exactly its boundary, Altımermer lies between the neighborhoods (mahalleler) of Kocamustafapaşa and Seyyid Ömer. The main axis of the quarter, Altımermer Caddesi, stretches between the neighborhoods of Kocamustafapaşa and Sayyidina Umar. The name of the quarter, "six marbles" in English, comes from the broken fragments of a fallen Byzantine column which during the Ottoman period were supposed to have magic properties. In this quarter was built between the 5th and the 6th century the Cistern of Mocius, the largest water reservoir in Constantinople, known since the Ottoman period as the Altımermer Çukurbostanı, and now turned into the education park of Fatih.

Fındıkzade

Fındıkzade is a quarter in the European side of Istanbul, located in the north side of Fatih, the province's capital district, lying between the quarters of Topkapı and Aksaray, and adjacent to the Hasseki, Yusufpaşa and Çapa quarters. The main roads of this quarter are Millet Caddesi and Vatan Caddesi. Three of the major city's hospitals are located here, making of it one of the most important health district in Istanbul.

Belgradkapı

Belgradkapı is a quarter in Zeytinburnu district of Istanbul in Turkey. It is located to the two sides of the Belgrad Gate at the Walls of Istanbul in the European side of the city. The name of the quarter refers to the people from Belgrad who settled in the neighborhood during the reign of Ottoman sultan Suleyman I.

Kadıköy (Istanbul Metro) metro station

Kadıköy is the western terminal station on the M4 line of the Istanbul Metro. Located beneath Haydarpaşa Rıhtım Caddesi (Street) it is serviced by the M4 between 6:00 and 0:04. The station has two tracks serving an island platform. Kadıköy opened on 17 August 2012 along with fifteen other stations on the M4 line. The Turkish Prime Minister Recep Tayyip Erdoğan along with the Mayor of Istanbul, Kadir Topbaş and other members of government inaugurated the line from Kadıköy and boarded a train to Kartal.

Şişhane (Istanbul Metro)

Şişhane is an underground station on the M2 line of the Istanbul Metro. The station is located under Meşrutiyet Street in Beyoğlu, Istanbul. Şişhane has an entrance to Istanbul's famous İstiklâl Caddesi as well as entrances to Kasımpaşa. An out-of-system connection is available to the historic Tünel funicular line as well as the T2 tram line. Many city buses that run along Tarlabaşı Boulevard are just a few blocks away from Şişhane's Kasımpaşa portal. Şişhane was opened on 31 January 2009 along with Atatürk Oto Sanayi on the northern part of the line. Between 2009-14 trains from Şişhane would operate as a shuttle to Taksim and back. When the M2 was extended south to Yenikapı in 2014, trains operated normally traversing the full line.

March 2016 Istanbul bombing suicide bombing on 19 March 2016

On 19 March 2016, a suicide bombing took place in Istanbul's Beyoğlu district in front of the district governor's office. The attack occurred at 10:55 (EET) at the intersection of Balo Street with İstiklal Avenue, a central shopping street. The attack caused at least five deaths, including that of the perpetrator. Thirty-six people were injured, including seven whose injuries were severe. Among those injured were twelve foreign tourists. Among those killed, two were of dual Israel-US nationality. On 22 March, the Turkish interior minister said that the bomber had links with ISIL.
