She was particularly successful in the title role of Carmen, as Dalila in Samson and Delilah and Azuncena in Il trovatore. She also sang the soprano Fru Ingeborg in Peter Heise's Danish opera Drot og marsk. After her retirement from the stage in 1956, she continued to give concerts and sang oratorios.
Ellen Nathalie Nina Beck (1873–1953) was a Danish mezzo-soprano who in the early 20th century was one of the country's best known concert performers. She also frequently gave recitals abroad, appearing in the Promenade Concerts in London's Royal Albert Hall. In 1906 she was honoured by King Frederick VIII as a Royal Chamber Singer, a title usually reserved for opera singers. Beck later became a prominent voice teacher.
