Elvire Gertosio (born 20 May 1948, died between 1972 and 1976) [1] was a French gymnast. She competed at the 1972 Summer Olympics. [2]

Dahomey sent three delegations to compete at the 1972 Summer Olympics in Munich, West Germany from 26 August to 11 September 1972. This was the country's first appearance at a Summer Olympic Games. The delegation consisted of three people, a sprinter, Ibrahima Idrissou, who did not advance past the first heat, boxers Meriga Salou Seriki and Leopold Agbazo who both did not advance to the second round.

Wolfgang Gunkel was an East German rower who mostly competed in coxed pairs together with Jörg Lucke. In this event he won the European title in 1971, the Olympic gold medal in 1972, and the world title in 1975. His crew placed fourth at the 1968 Olympics. Gunkel won another world title in the men's eight in 1977. In February 1978, he was given the sports awards Honoured Master of Sports.
