Elysia Laramie (born August 26, 2000) is an American professional soccer player who most recently played for USL Super League club Lexington SC. A versatile player, she can play as a forward or a center back. She played college soccer for Long Beach State.
Laramie was born and raised in Simi Valley, California. [2] She started playing varsity soccer at Simi Valley High School [6] as a freshman, using her physicality to fend off more mature opponents. [7] She eventually became a staple on the team, winning four varsity letters and getting one all-league first team honor. [3] Laramie also ran track for Simi Valley and played club soccer for local team Eagles SC. [8] [3]
As a freshman at Long Beach State, Laramie participated in all 27 of her team's matches and started 7. [3] She was also named to the Big West All-Freshman team. [9] She scored her first collegiate goal on October 11, 2018, netting the overtime game-winner against Cal Poly. [10] She latter added to her goal tally on the final game of the regular season, which was against CSUN. The following year, Laramie repeated the feat, recording a goal in Long Beach State's final game of the season for the second year in a row. [3] She was named to the All-Big West first team this time around. [4]
The 2020 NCAA season was canceled due to the COVID-19 pandemic, but Laramie waited even longer to return to the field after suffering a serious knee injury and redshirting what would have been her third season of play. [11] While medically cleared in April 2021, Laramie lacked confidence and pushed her return date to the following season. [4] In 2022, she started all 21 matches and played 18 full games. While she had previously made a few appearances on the backline in years prior, she spent almost her entire year playing as a center back. [3]
Laramie played in one more season of college, entering 2023 as a sixth-year athlete. [12] She had a breakout offensive season, scoring the second-highest goals in the conference, tying for second in assists, and being named to the All-Big West second team. [3] She became the first Long Beach State player to ever score 4 goals in a game, [13] a performance which earned her the title of conference Offensive Player of the Week in August 2023. [14] Laramie left Long Beach State with 17 goals in 79 total games. [3]
On June 19, 2024, Laramie signed her first professional contract with Lexington SC ahead of the inaugural USL Super League season. [11] However, another knee injury sidelined her for much of the season. [15] [16] Laramie made her professional debut and return to play on May 17, 2025, entering an eventual 1–0 loss to Fort Lauderdale United FC as a 73rd-minute substitute. [17] She went on to make one more appearance on the season as Lexington finished the inaugural USLS campaign in last place. [1]
In May 2018, Laramie received her first call-up to the United States under-18 national team. [3] She has credited the experience with helping her develop mental discipline and stronger skills. [5]
Laramie announced her engagement to Alex Harris on June 10, 2024. [18]
