The Embassy of Bangladesh, Berlin is a diplomatic mission of Bangladesh located in Germany. It is headed by the ambassador of Bangladesh to Germany. [1]
After the Bangladesh War of Independence in 1971, East Germany was the third country in the world, and the first in Europe, to officially recognize Bangladesh in 1972. The former West Germany recognized Bangladesh about three weeks later on 4 February 1972. In 1972, the East German capital East Berlin and the West German capital Bonn established embassies. And when East and West Germany were reunited in 1990, the Bangladesh embassy in Bonn was moved to merge with the Bangladesh embassy in East Berlin. And in 2025, the embassy was rebuilt at its current location. [2] [3]
Currently, consular services are provided only through the Consulate Section of the Embassy. In 2025, the Interim Government of Bangladesh is planning to establish a new consulate in Frankfurt. [4]
