Emery Dobyns is an American record producer and songwriter, formerly based in Manhattan in New York City, but now based in Nashville.

In late 2021 Dobyns produced and mixed "The Masked Singer EP" for Jewel (singer). He co-produced the latest album from Better Than Ezra, Super Magick. [1]

He has recorded and mixed for the likes of Sia, Lou Reed, Antony & The Johnsons, and Battles. He has produced, recorded and mixed albums by Patti Smith, Noah & The Whale, Travis, Mt. Desolation, Chief, Parlour Tricks, and Fran Healy. [2] [3] Other artists he has worked with include: , Leona Naess, Young Rival, Black Crowes, O.D.B., P. Diddy, Mary J. Blige, and Scarlett Johansson. [4]


Recently his songs and productions have been heard on TV shows such as "Lucifer" , American Horror Story, Nancy Drew (2019 TV series), Batwoman (TV series), Virgin River (TV series), Into the Dark (TV series), Grey's Anatomy, Legends of Tomorrow, Sacred Lies, Roswell (TV series), Shades of Blue (TV series) and others. Ad placements include Ford Motor Company and Chromebook.

Selected songs include "Roots" with Morgxn, "Tell That Devil" (featured as the Wynonna Earp (TV series) theme song and on Nashville (2012 TV series)), "Alone Together" (with Jamie Lidell and featured on Grey's Anatomy) and "Hold The Phone" (with Tor Miller.)

Dobyns won a Grammy award for engineering Beauty & Crime by Suzanne Vega. [5]


He also has several musical projects (with Samuel Dixon) in which he co-writes and sings.

<i>Wreckorder</i> 2010 studio album by Fran Healy

Wreckorder is the debut solo album from Travis frontman, Fran Healy. The album was released on 4 October 2010, on Healy's private label, WreckordLabel. The album was recorded in late 2009 in Berlin and New York City, before being completed in Vermont in early 2010. It was produced by Emery Dobyns, with contributions from Paul McCartney, Neko Case and Noah and the Whale's Tom Hobden. The album is available in standard and deluxe editions, and debuted at number 76 on the UK Albums Chart.

Travis Aaron McNabb is an American drummer and percussionist. McNabb is perhaps best known as a longtime member of the band Better Than Ezra, although he has performed session and touring work with many acts during his career. Prior to joining Better Than Ezra in January 1996, McNabb toured with acts such as Vigilantes of Love, Beggars, and seminal Oregon-based punk rock band The Wipers. Since mid-2007, he has been the full-time touring drummer with Grammy-award winning Country/Bluegrass act Sugarland.
