Super Magick is the ninth studio album from the New Orleans-based rock group Better Than Ezra, released on May 3, 2024. It is the band's first album in 10 years. [1] [2]

Contents

The alternative rock album is produced by frontman Kevin Griffin and Emery Dobyns and was recorded at Pink Deer Studios. [3]

Release

On March 8, 2024, it was announced that the album would be released on May 3, 2024. [4] The album cover was also revealed, which contains Theban writing of track names: "Mystify", "Contact (High)", "Fuzzy", "Grateful", "Live (A Little)", "Omens", "and Super Magick". [1]

A new album was anticipated for some time while the band explored other projects, released several live albums since All Together Now, and released a few singles as well. Frontman Kevin Griffin also released a solo album. [5]

Singles

Three tracks, "Contact High", "Mystified", and "Grateful" were previously released as singles. Upon the announcement of the new album, "Live a Little" was released as the next single.

Emery Dobyns is an American record producer and songwriter, formerly based in Manhattan in New York City, but now based in Nashville.

Travis Aaron McNabb is an American drummer and percussionist. McNabb is perhaps best known as a longtime member of the band Better Than Ezra, although he has performed session and touring work with many acts during his career. Prior to joining Better Than Ezra in January 1996, McNabb toured with acts such as Vigilantes of Love, Beggars, and seminal Oregon-based punk rock band The Wipers. Since mid-2007, he has been the full-time touring drummer with Grammy-award winning Country/Bluegrass act Sugarland.
