Emma Klingenberg (born 18 May 1992) is a Danish orienteering competitor, and junior World champion.

Early life

Klingenberg has done orienteering since she was seven years old. Before 2008 she participated in the European Youth Orienteering Championships. Her club is OK Pan Århus and she is from the southern part of Denmark. [1]

Junior career

Emma Klingenberg became Junior World Champion in sprint in Gothenburg in 2008, before Silje Ekroll Jahren and Jenny Lönnkvist, with less than three seconds between winner and third place. [2] [3] She was the youngest person to ever win a junior world orienteering championship, at the age of 16. [4]

The junior world championship, and Klingenberg's victory in the sprint event, has been covered or referred to in news magazines and sports magazines worldwide. [5] [6] [7] [8] [9] [10] [11] [12] [13] [14] [15] [16] Danish newspapers had more in-depth presentations of the winner. [17] [18]

Klingenberg went on to win two more gold medals as a junior, both in the Relay. She became a senior after the 2012 Junior World Championships.

Senior career

two years after becoming a senior, Klingenberg won her first medal in the 2014 World Orienteering Championships in Italy. In 2015, the Danish women's team won 4 of the 5 gold medals at the championships in Inverness. Emma was a member of both relay teams, bringing back two gold medals.

To date, Klingenberg has not won any individual gold medals at a senior championship.

Dmitry also won two gold medals at JWOC 2003 in Estonia in a classic distance and relay. On March 5, 2022, Dmitry Tsvetkov supported the Russian invasion of Ukraine.

Maja Møller Alm is a Danish orienteering and Athletics competitor who has won seven World Championships and two World Games titles. She is especially known for her four gold medals on the sprint distance, where she has won the title four years in a row: 2015, 2016, 2017 and 2018. She is also a medalist from the Junior World Championships. Since 2006 she has been coached by Danish national coach Lars Lindstrøm. Alm is remarkable for her dominant running speed, which gives her a great advantage over other competitors at the sprint distance.

Ivan Sirakov is a Bulgarian orienteering competitor from Veliko Tarnovo, who has competed for Bulgaria at two World Orienteering Championships, in 2007 and in 2008. He earned a bronze medal at the Junior World Orienteering Championships.

Bodil Holmström is a Finnish orienteering competitor. She won a bronze medal in the relay at the 2001 Junior World Orienteering Championships in Miskolc. She competed at the World Games in 2009, where she won a silver medal in the relay, and placed 7th in the sprint and 12th in the middle distance. At the 2009 World Orienteering Championships in Miskolc she won a bronze medal with the Finnish relay team.

<span class="mw-page-title-main">Signe Søes</span> Danish orienteering competitor

Signe Søes is a Danish orienteering competitor. She won a silver medal in the short distance at the 2003 Junior World Orienteering Championships in Põlva. She placed fourth in the sprint, 10th in the middle and 12th in the long distance at the 2009 World Orienteering Championships in Miskolc. At the 2008 and 2010 World Cups, she placed 2nd. At the European Championships 2014 at Palmela, Portugal, Søes became European Champion in the middle distance winning a gold medal.

Ida Bobach is a Danish orienteering competitor who was Junior World Champion in 2009, and became triple Junior World Champion from 2010, when she won the sprint, long distance and the relay. She represents the club OK Pan Århus, and since 2007, has received training from Danish national coach Lars Lindstrøm. In 2015 she won gold medals at the World Championships in the long and Relay.

Emil Svensk is a Swedish orienteering competitor. He was born in Borlänge. He won a gold medal in the middle distance at the 2013 Junior World Orienteering Championships. At the 2018 European Orienteering Championships in Cadempino he won a silver medal in the mixed sprint relay with the Swedish team. He competed at the 2018 World Orienteering Championships in Latvia, where he placed sixth in the sprint final, and won a gold medal in the mixed sprint relay, together with Karolin Ohlsson, Jonas Leandersson and Tove Alexandersson. In the 2019 World Orienteering Championships in Norway he participated in the winning Swedish relay team together with Johan Runesson and Gustav Bergman. Even in the 2023 World Orienteering Championships he participated together with Albin Ridefeldt and Gustav Bergman in the Swedish relay team which won the bronze medal.

Isac von Krusenstierna is a Swedish orienteering competitor who represents the club OK Kåre.
