Emmanouela Frroku (born 31 July 2007) is an Australian-Greek rhythmic gymnast. [1] She represents her country in international competitions.
Emmanouela first started rhythmic gymnastics as a five-years-old in Greece. Before her ninth birthday she had already won her first medal, a bronze at the Greek national championships. [2]
She and her family moved to Australia (as her mother who has hails from Lesvos is an Australian citizen) after her parents lost their jobs in consequence of an economic crisis. Within a year of her relocation Emmanouela was winning Australian championship medals as a junior. At the 2022 Australian junior titles, she won gold medals in ball, ribbon and team. [3] Frroku is of Albanian descent from his father's side. [4]
In 2022 she was selected for the Australian national junior team. [5] In December 2023 she integrated the senior group of the Aspire club. In early 2024 the group won a silver medal and two bronze medals at the 2024 Aphrodite Cup. [6] In May they won two golds and one silver at the Sofia International Tournament, getting the chance to compete at the continental championships. [7] The Oceanian Championships were held in Budapest along the European ones, there Emmanouela, Jessica Weintraub, Liidia Iakovleva, Phoebe Learmont and Saskia Broedelet won gold in the All-Around, thus earning the chance to represent Australia at the 2024 Olympic Games in Paris. Laura Yihan Zeng is an American former individual rhythmic gymnast. She represented the United States at the 2016 and 2020 Summer Olympics. She swept all of the events at the 2015 Pan American Games and at the 2018 Pan American Championships. She is the 2014 Youth Olympic and 2019 Summer Universiade all-around bronze medalist and the 2019 Grand Prix Final hoop bronze medalist. She is an eight-time national all-around champion, six times at the senior level and twice at the junior level (2013–14).
Linoy Ashram is a retired Israeli individual rhythmic gymnast. She is the 2020 Olympic All-around Champion, the 2018 World All-around silver medalist, two-time World All-around bronze medalist, the 2020 European All-around champion, and the 2019 European Games All-around silver medalist. She is the third Israeli athlete and first Israeli woman to win an Olympic gold medal in any sport, and the first Israeli rhythmic gymnast to win an Olympic medal. She became the first rhythmic gymnast from outside a post-Soviet republic to win a gold medal at an Olympics where former Soviet states participated.
Alexandra Ana Maria Agiurgiuculese is a Romanian-Italian individual rhythmic gymnast who represents Italy. She is a World Championships silver and bronze medalist, and she competed at the 2020 Summer Olympics. Agiurgiuculese was the first Italian gymnast to win the Longines Prize for Elegance. At the national level, she is the 2019 Italian National all-around champion and three-time Italian National all-around silver medalist.
Boryana Nikolaeva Kaleyn is a Bulgarian individual rhythmic gymnast. She is the 2024 Paris Olympic all-around silver medalist. She is the 2023 European all-around champion, the 2024 European champion with hoop, the 2021 and 2022 European all-around silver medalist, and the 2022 European champion with ball, ribbon, and in the team competition. Kaleyn is also the 2023 World Team all-around champion and the 2022 World Cup Series all-around champion in Sofia and runner-up in Baku. She competed at the 2020 Summer Olympics, finishing fifth in the all-around.
Lala Dmitrievna Kramarenko is a Russian individual rhythmic gymnast. She is the 2019 junior world champion in ball and clubs and the 2018 European junior champion in ball and ribbon. At the 2021 European Championships, she won team gold. She is also a three-time junior national all around champion (2017-2019) and a two-time national all-around silver medalist (2020-2021).
Milena Baldassarri is an Italian individual rhythmic gymnast. She won silver in the ribbon final at the 2018 Rhythmic Gymnastics World Championships. She competed at the 2020 Summer Olympics in the individual all-around. She is competing at the 2024 Paris Olympics in Women's rhythmic individual all-around, and has qualified for the final.
Alexandra Kiroi-Bogatyreva is an Australian Olympic rhythmic gymnast. She is the 2022 Commonwealth Games clubs champion, team silver medalist, and all-around bronze medalist. She also won two bronze medals at the 2018 Commonwealth Games. She is a four-time Australian all-around champion. She won five bronze medals at the 2022 Maccabiah Games, and has competed at the Rhythmic Gymnastics World Championships five times.
Sofia Raffaeli is an Italian individual rhythmic gymnast. She is the 2024 OIympic bronze medalist, 2022 World all-around, hoop, ball, ribbon and team champion, the 2023 World all-around, hoop and ball silver medalist, the 2023 European silver all-around medalist, and the 2024 European all-around silver medalist. She is the first Italian individual rhythmic gymnast to win a gold medal at the World Championships, European Championships and World Games, and she has won seven all-around gold medals in the FIG World Cup circuit.
Stiliana Nikolova is a Bulgarian individual rhythmic gymnast. She is the 2024 European all-around champion, the 2022 World all-around bronze medalist and hoop, clubs, and ribbon silver medalist, the 2023 World ball bronze medalist and team competition champion, and a two-time European all-around bronze medalist and champion in the team competition. At the national level, she is a two-time national champion and the 2022 national all-around silver medalist. She competed at the 2024 Summer Olympics, where she came in 11th place.
Daria Atamanov is an Israeli individual rhythmic gymnast. She is the 2022 European all-around Champion, and the 2023 World Championship all-around bronze medalist. She is also the 2022 European Championship silver medalist in hoop, clubs, ribbon, and the team bronze medalist. On a national level, she is the 2022 & 2024 Israeli National all-around champion and a two-time Israeli Junior National all-around champion. Atamanov represented Israel at the 2024 Paris Olympics at Porte de La Chapelle Arena in the Women's rhythmic individual all-around, and came in fifth in her first Olympics.
Zohra Aghamirova is an Azerbaijani rhythmic gymnast. She competed at the 2020 Summer Olympics. She is competing at the 2024 Paris Olympics in Women's rhythmic individual all-around.
Lidiia Anatolyevna Iakovleva is a Russian-born Australian rhythmic gymnast who represented Australia at the 2020 Summer Olympics in the individual all-around. She represented Australia at the 2018 Summer Youth Olympics and won a bronze medal in the mixed multi-discipline team event. She won a silver medal in the team event at the 2022 Commonwealth Games. She will compete at the 2024 Summer Olympics as part of Australia's rhythmic gymnastics group.
Takhmina Ikromova is an Uzbekistani rhythmic gymnast. She is an Asian Games champion individually and in the team event, and she is also a two-time all-around champion at the Asian Rhythmic Gymnastics Championships, in 2022 and 2023. She is competing at the 2024 Paris Olympics in Women's rhythmic individual all-around at the Adidas Arena on 8-9 August 2024.
Darja Varfolomeev is a Russian-born German rhythmic gymnast. She is the 2024 Olympic all-around and 2023 World all-around gold medalist and the 2022 World all-around silver medalist. In 2024 she became the 2024 European all-around bronze medalist. At the national level, she is a two-time national All-Around champion as well a two-time All-Around junior champion.
Liliana Lewińska is a Polish rhythmic gymnast. She is the 2023 Junior World clubs and ribbon champion, as well as the 2022 European hoop and clubs silver medalist and ribbon bronze medalist.
Ofir Shaham is an Israeli team world champion rhythmic gymnast. She won a 2022 European Championship gold medal in the group All-Around, and a 2022 World Championships silver medal in the same category. The following year at the 2023 World Championships, she won two team gold medals, one in the Group All-Around and one in the 3 Ribbons + 2 Balls. Shaham reprented Israel at the 2024 Paris Olympics in the Women's rhythmic team all-around, in which Team Israel won the silver medal.
Romi Paritzki is an Israeli world champion rhythmic gymnast, and captain of Israel's rhythmic gymnastics team. She won the gold medal in the group All-Around at the 2022 European Championship, a silver medal in the same category at the 2022 World Championships, and gold medals in Group and in Group Multiple Apparatus Ball, Ribbon, at the 2023 World Championships. Paritzki represented Israel at the 2024 Paris Olympics in the Women's rhythmic team all-around, in which Team Israel won the silver medal.
Saskia Broedelet is an Australian rhythmic gymnast. She will represent Australia at the 2024 Summer Olympics in the group all-around.
Phoebe Learmont is an Australian rhythmic gymnast who represents her country in international competitions.
Jessica Weintraub is an Australian Olympic rhythmic gymnast. She represents Australia in international competitions. She will compete for Australia at the 2024 Paris Olympics in the Women's rhythmic group all-around at the Adidas Arena on 9-10 August.
