Phoebe Learmont (born 23 June 2005) is an Australian rhythmic gymnast who represents her country in international competitions. [1]
Learmont took up gymnastics at age six, first as an artistic gymnast as she joined a cousin who was already involved in the sport, and then she followed one of her coaches into rhythmic. [2] Her breakthrough year came in 2017, when she placed first in hoop, ball, clubs, ribbon and all around at the Australian titles. [3]
She began competing with the Aspire Gymnastics Academy rhythmic gymnastics group in 2023. [4] The group placed fifth in the all-around at the Tashkent World Cup. [5] Additionally, they finished seventh in the 5 hoops final and sixth in the 3 ribbons + 2 balls final. [6] They won a silver medal in the group all-around at the Australian Championships. The Aspire group was not selected for the 2023 World Championships, and their appeal to the National Sports Tribunal was dismissed. [7]
Learmont and the Aspire group won a silver medal and two bronze medals at the 2024 Aphrodite Cup. [8] In May they won two golds and one silver at the Sofia International Tournament, getting the chance to compete at the continental championships. [9] The Oceanian Championships were held in Budapest along the European ones, there Phoebe, Jessica Weintraub, Liidia Iakovleva, Emmanouela Frroku and Saskia Broedelet won gold in the All-Around, thus earning the chance to represent Australia at the 2024 Olympic Games in Paris. Son Yeon Jae KTM is a retired South Korean individual rhythmic gymnast. She is a former member of the South Korean national gymnastics team, based in Taereung, Seoul. Son is the 2014 Asian Games All-around Champion, the 2010 Asian Games All-around bronze medalist, three-time Asian Championships All-around Champion. She is the first and only South Korean individual rhythmic gymnast to win a medal at the World Championships, FIG World Cup series, Universiade and the Asian Games.
Dina Alekseyevna Averina is a Russian former individual rhythmic gymnast. She was the 2020 Olympic All-around silver medalist, the only four-time World All-around Champion, the 2018 silver and 2021 European All-around bronze medalist and the 2016 Grand Prix Final All-around silver medalist. On a national level, she was the 2017, 2018 and 2022 Russian National All-around champion and the 2013 Russian Junior All-around bronze medalist. Her identical twin sister, Arina Averina, is also a competitive rhythmic gymnast.
Arina Alekseyevna Averina is a Russian former individual rhythmic gymnast. She was a 2020 Summer Olympics finalist, a two-time world all-around silver medalist, a two-time European all-around champion and the 2016 Grand Prix Final all-around bronze medalist. She was a three-time (2019–2021) Russian national all-around champion and a three-time Russian national all-around medalist. Her identical twin sister Dina Averina is also a competitive rhythmic gymnast.
Linoy Ashram is a retired Israeli individual rhythmic gymnast. She is the 2020 Olympic All-around Champion, the 2018 World All-around silver medalist, two-time World All-around bronze medalist, the 2020 European All-around champion, and the 2019 European Games All-around silver medalist. She is the third Israeli athlete and first Israeli woman to win an Olympic gold medal in any sport, and the first Israeli rhythmic gymnast to win an Olympic medal. She became the first rhythmic gymnast from outside a post-Soviet republic to win a gold medal at an Olympics where former Soviet states participated.
Valeriya Khanina is a Ukrainian rhythmic gymnast. She is the 2014 Junior European ribbon silver medalist. She represented Ukraine at the 2014 Summer Youth Olympics and finished sixth in the individual all-around.
Alexandra Kiroi-Bogatyreva is an Australian Olympic rhythmic gymnast. She is the 2022 Commonwealth Games clubs champion, team silver medalist, and all-around bronze medalist. She also won two bronze medals at the 2018 Commonwealth Games. She is a four-time Australian all-around champion. She won five bronze medals at the 2022 Maccabiah Games, and has competed at the Rhythmic Gymnastics World Championships five times.
Khrystyna Oleksandrivna Pohranychna is a Ukrainian individual rhythmic gymnast. She is the 2018 Youth Olympic Games all-around silver medalist, a 2020 Olympic Games all-around finalist, and a four-time medalist at the 2018 European Junior Championships.
Sofia Raffaeli is an Italian individual rhythmic gymnast. She is the 2024 OIympic bronze medalist, 2022 World all-around, hoop, ball, ribbon and team champion, the 2023 World all-around, hoop and ball silver medalist, the 2023 European silver all-around medalist, and the 2024 European all-around silver medalist. She is the first Italian individual rhythmic gymnast to win a gold medal at the World Championships, European Championships and World Games, and she has won seven all-around gold medals in the FIG World Cup circuit.
Fanni Pigniczki is a Hungarian rhythmic gymnast. She is competing at the 2024 Paris Olympics in Women's rhythmic individual all-around.
Lidiia Anatolyevna Iakovleva is a Russian-born Australian rhythmic gymnast who represented Australia at the 2020 Summer Olympics in the individual all-around. She represented Australia at the 2018 Summer Youth Olympics and won a bronze medal in the mixed multi-discipline team event. She won a silver medal in the team event at the 2022 Commonwealth Games. She will compete at the 2024 Summer Olympics as part of Australia's rhythmic gymnastics group.
Takhmina Ikromova is an Uzbekistani rhythmic gymnast. She is an Asian Games champion individually and in the team event, and she is also a two-time all-around champion at the Asian Rhythmic Gymnastics Championships, in 2022 and 2023. She is competing at the 2024 Paris Olympics in Women's rhythmic individual all-around at the Adidas Arena on 8-9 August 2024.
Darja Varfolomeev is a Russian-born German rhythmic gymnast. She is the 2024 Olympic all-around and 2023 World all-around gold medalist and the 2022 World all-around silver medalist. In 2024 she became the 2024 European all-around bronze medalist. At the national level, she is a two-time national All-Around champion as well a two-time All-Around junior champion.
Elzhana Taniyeva is a Kazakh rhythmic gymnast. She is the 2024 Asian all-around champion and will represent Kazakhstan at the 2024 Summer Olympics. She is the 2022 Asian Games all-around and team silver medalist. She won three medals at the 2021 Summer World University Games and four medals at the 2021 Islamic Solidarity Games. She is competing at the 2024 Paris Olympics in Women's rhythmic individual all-around.
Liliana Lewińska is a Polish rhythmic gymnast. She is the 2023 Junior World clubs and ribbon champion, as well as the 2022 European hoop and clubs silver medalist and ribbon bronze medalist.
