Energy Cities is the European Association of local authorities in energy transition. It represents 1000 towns and cities in 30 countries. From 2017 to 2020, Energy Cities is under the Presidency of the City of Heidelberg (DE). Energy Cities was established as an association of European local authorities in 1990 to put all this into practice. The association premises are located in Brussels (BE) and Besançon (FR). A part of the team works in Budapest (HU), Offenburg (DE), Freiburg im Breisgau (DE) and Zürich (CH). [1]

She is a member of the Christian Democratic Union in Lower Saxony, which is a part of the European People's Party. She most recently served as the European People's Party's coordinator of the International Trade Committee (INTA), chairwoman of the UK Monitoring Group of INTA, vice-coordinator of the Committee on Human Rights (DROI) and vice-chairwoman of the Delegation for relations with Canada.

Christopher Laurie Malthouse is a British politician, businessman and occasional writer serving as Minister of State for Crime, Policing and the Fire Service since July 2019 and Minister of State for Justice since February 2020. A member of the Conservative Party, he has been the Member of Parliament (MP) for North West Hampshire since 2015. Renewable energy in the European Union

Renewable energy plays an important and growing role in the energy system of the European Union. The share of energy from renewable sources in gross final consumption of energy was 17% in 2016. This is double the share in 2004 with 8.5%. The Europe 2020 strategy includes a target of reaching 20% of gross final energy consumption from renewable sources by 2020, and at least 27% by 2030. These figures are based on energy use in all its forms across all three main sectors, the heating and cooling sector, the electricity sector and the transport sector.

Gérard Magnin was Executive Director of Energy Cities between 1994 and 2014, after having been the original founder of this European network that brings together about 1000 local authorities from 30 European countries. He has been Regional Director for the French Agency for the Environment and Energy Management (ADEME) in Franche-Comté region (FR) for ten years. Initially trained in electrical engineering, followed by economics and politics, he taught economic and social sciences for eight years.

Planoise Part of Besançon in Bourgogne-Franche-Comté, France

Planoise is an urban area in the western part of Besançon, France, built in the 1960s between the hill of Planoise and the district of Hauts-de-Chazal. It is the most populous district of Besançon, with 21,000 inhabitants. Its inhabitants are called Planoisiens and Planoisiennes.

Chronology of Planoise

Planoise is a new urban zone created at the end of the 1960s because of the high demography of the city (Besançon). Before the buildings, there were a lot of farms and some monuments. This hamlet was transformed into a real little town within a decade.

The European Forum for Urban Security (Efus) is a non-governmental organisation established in 1987 in Barcelona under the auspices of the Council of Europe supporting a network of more than 250 European local authorities in 16 countries.

Franck Proust French politician

Franck Proust is a French politician of the Union for a Popular Movement who served as a Member of the European Parliament from 2011 until 2019, first vice-chair of the French EPP Group delegation in the European Parliament.
