Eng Leong Medallic Industries Pte Ltd (ELM Medallist & Jeweller) is a privately owned company based in Singapore, specialising in the manufacture of State and Military Order (honour), Decorations and Medals (ODM) and bespoke gifts. The company was founded by Singaporean Chua Kang Leong and his elder sister Chua Tee.
In 1968, Chua Kang Leong and his elder sister Chua Tee founded the business.
ELM credits much of the company’s growth over the past 41 years to Singapore’s geographical advantage with English being the primary medium for industry. ELM also benefitted from the combination of Western technology, education and infrastructure and the competitive cost advantages of being located in Asia.
Lee Kuan Yew, born Harry Lee Kuan Yew, often referred to by his initials LKY and in his earlier years as Harry Lee, was a Singaporean statesman and lawyer who served as the first prime minister of Singapore between 1959 and 1990. He is widely recognised as the nation's founding father.

Lim Bo Seng was a Chinese resistance fighter based in Singapore and Malaya during World War II. Before the outbreak of World War II, he was a prominent businessman among the Chinese community in Singapore. When the Second Sino-Japanese War broke out, he participated in anti-Japanese activities in Malaya and Singapore. During Japanese occupation of Malaya and Singapore, he was tasked to establish Force 136, a guerrilla task force backed by Special Operations Executive (SOE). However, he was captured by Japanese forces and died while interned. He is remembered as a war hero in Singapore and Malaysia.
The romanisation of the Chinese language in Singapore is not dictated by a single policy, nor is its policy implementation consistent, as the local Chinese community is composed of a myriad of topolect groups. Although Hanyu Pinyin is adopted as the preferred romanisation system for Mandarin and the standard of Chinese education, the general lack of a romanisation standard for other Chinese varieties results in some level of inconsistency. This may be illustrated by the many variants for the same Chinese characters often found in surnames such as Low, Loh, Lo; Tay, Teh; Teo, Teoh; Yong, Yeong.
Hong Kah Group Representation Constituency was a five-member Group Representation Constituency located in the western area of Singapore. The constituency covered the areas of Bukit Batok, Choa Chu Kang, Upper Bukit Timah, Jurong West and Lim Chu Kang. Hong Kah GRC was formed in 1988 and eventually dissolved and reformed into Chua Chu Kang GRC in 2011. It had always been held by the People's Action Party.

Gan Kim Yong is a Singaporean politician who has been serving as Minister for Trade and Industry since 2021. A member of the governing People's Action Party (PAP), he is a Member of the 14th Parliament and has been representing the Chua Chu Kang ward of Chua Chu Kang Group Representation Constituency (GRC) since 2011. Within the PAP, he is the Chairman of the party's Central Executive Committee. Gan was previously the Minister for Manpower (2008–2011) and Minister for Health (2011–2021). He is also a co-chair of the Multi-Ministerial Committee set up by the government in January 2020 to manage the COVID-19 pandemic in Singapore.
The Chua Chu Kang Group Representation Constituency is a four-member Group Representation Constituency located in the western area of Singapore. The four divisions of the GRC consists of Choa Chu Kang, Bukit Gombak, Keat Hong and Brickland. Military installations constitute a large part of the constituency, including most of the SAFTI Live Firing Area, Ama Keng and Neo Tiew military training areas and Murai Urban training facility. The current MPs are Gan Kim Yong, Low Yen Ling, Don Wee and Zhulkarnain Abdul Rahim from the People's Action Party (PAP).

Low Yen Ling is a Singaporean politician who has been serving as Minister of State at the Ministries of Culture, Community and Youth and Trade and Industry since 2020. A member of the governing People's Action Party (PAP), she is a Member of the 14th Parliament and has been representing the Bukit Gombak ward of Chua Chu Kang Group Representation Constituency (GRC) since 2011. She has also been the Mayor of the South West District and Chairperson of the Mayors' Committee since 2014.
Zaqy bin Mohamad is a Singaporean politician who has been serving as Senior Minister of State for Manpower, and Defence since 2020. A member of the governing People's Action Party (PAP), he has been the Member of Parliament (MP) representing the Marsiling ward of Marsiling–Yew Tee GRC since 2020. He was also Deputy Government Whip from 2019 to 2020 and has been Deputy Leader of the House in Parliament since 2020.
The Marsiling–Yew Tee Group Representation Constituency is a four-member Group Representation Constituency (GRC) in the north-western part of Singapore. The constituency encompasses Chua Chu Kang, Sungei Kadut Industrial Area, Kranji, Woodlands Checkpoint, and the west part of Woodlands. The four divisions of the GRC are Limbang, Marsiling, Yew Tee and Woodgrove. The current MPs are Lawrence Wong, Alex Yam, Hany Soh and Zaqy Mohamad from the People's Action Party (PAP).
Chua Mia Tee is a Chinese-born Singaporean artist known for his social realist oil paintings capturing the social and political conditions of Singapore and Malaya in the 1950s and 60s. Chua was involved in the Equator Art Society, an artist group founded in 1956 whose social realist works sought to instil a distinct Malayan consciousness by representing the realities and struggles of the masses. For his contributions to the visual arts in Singapore, Chua was awarded the Cultural Medallion in 2015.
Lee Boon Wang was a Chinese-born Singaporean landscape painter, best known for his riverside and seaside paintings. Many of his paintings are exhibited at the National Gallery Singapore.
The Progress Singapore Party is an opposition political party in Singapore and is one of the three contemporary political parties represented in parliament, alongside the ruling People's Action Party (PAP) and the opposition Workers' Party (WP).
Dexmon Chua Yizhi was a material analyst and Singaporean who was brutally murdered in Singapore by his former girlfriend's husband Chia Kee Chen, who craved revenge on Chua for having an affair with his wife and thus gathered two people to help him abduct and kill Chua. The manner of his death was due to a grievous assault that caused severe fatal injuries. Dexmon Chua was 37 years old when he died at Lim Chu Kang on 28 December 2013.
