Daft Punk are a French electronic music duo formed in Paris in 1993 by Guy-Manuel de Homem-Christo and Thomas Bangalter. They achieved popularity in the late 1990s as part of the French house movement; they also had success in the years following, combining elements of house music with funk, techno, disco, rock and synthpop. They have worn ornate helmets and gloves to assume robot personas in most public appearances since 1999 and rarely grant interviews or appear on television. The duo were managed from 1996 to 2008 by Pedro Winter, the head of Ed Banger Records.

The Lycée Carnot was founded in 1869, first bearing the name of École Monge and then renamed in 1895. Darlin' was a French rock band formed in 1992 by Laurent Brancowitz, Thomas Bangalter and Guy-Manuel de Homem-Christo. Their name was taken from the Beach Boys song of the same name.

Shimmies in Super 8 is a rare compilation released in United Kingdom on April 1993 as a double pack. Its catalogue number is DS45 – 05/06. DS45 – 05 is a white vinyl 7", DS45 – 06 is a green vinyl. Both 7"s were housed in a folder cardboard sleeve in a plastic bag. This album features two of the four songs produced by Darlin', a French indie rock group composed of Thomas Bangalter, Guy-Manuel De Homem Christo and Laurent Brancowitz. Some copies includes a Darlin' sticker roughly 400, Darlin' paper insert and a Colm paper insert, designed by de Homem Christo. All copies were numbered. Someone at the pressing plant did run off a couple of test copies on light blue vinyl.
"Derezzed" is an instrumental song written, produced and performed by Daft Punk for the soundtrack of the motion picture Tron: Legacy, available on the album of the same name. As a pre-order bonus for the album on the iTunes Store, "Derezzed" was released by Walt Disney Records as a single on December 8, 2010. It was remixed by The Glitch Mob and Avicii for the remix albums Tron: Legacy Reconfigured and Dconstructed. "Derezzed" was also included on a 4-track vinyl EP titled Translucence, released by Walt Disney Records.

Daft Punk Unchained is an Anglo-French documentary that was televised on 24 June 2015 in France and on 9 February 2016 in the UK. It documents the rise to fame and the lives of Daft Punk members Guy-Manuel de Homem-Christo and Thomas Bangalter and their pioneering influence on the electronic music scene.
