The Kleist Prize is an annual German literature prize. The prize was first awarded in 1912, on the occasion of the hundredth anniversary of the death of Heinrich von Kleist. The Kleist Prize was the most important literary award of the Weimar Republic, but was discontinued in 1933.
The Erich Fried Prize is a literary prize in honour of the Austrian poet Erich Fried, and is awarded annually by the International Erich Fried Society for Literature and Language, based in Vienna. The value of the prize, endowed by the office of the Chancellor of Austria, is 15,600 euros. Each year the trustees of the Erich Fried Society select a juror, who nominates the winner of the prize for that year.
The Münchhausen Prize was instituted in 1997, the 200th anniversary of the death of the historical Baron von Münchhausen. It is awarded in May each year in Bodenwerder, the Baron's hometown, for special talent in the art of speaking or presentation, either in literature or the visual arts, fantasy and satire, in the sense of the Baron. The prize money is €2,556.
The Konrad Adenauer Prize was an award by the Germany Foundation, a national conservative organisation associated with the Christian Democratic Union, from 1967 to 2001 It was given annually between 1973 and 1975, then every two years, with exceptions, from 1975 to 2001. It was given to right-wing intellectuals and was named in memory of statesman and former German Chancellor Konrad Adenauer. The journalism and literary prizes are now both separate prizes altogether.

Ernst-Toller-Preis is a Bavarian literary prize, awarded every two years in the name of Ernst Toller. The prize money is €5,000.
Jakob-Wassermann-Literaturpreis is a Bavarian literary prize. It is granted in honour to the famous German-Jewish writer Jakob Wassermann by the city of Fürth and comes with a donation of 10.000 Euros. The prize was established in 1995.
Johann-Heinrich-Merck-Preis is a literary prize of Hesse awarded by the Deutsche Akademie für Sprache und Dichtung since 1964. Since 2013 the prize winner receives €20,000. The award is donated by the Merck Group in memory of the German author and critic Johann Heinrich Merck (1741–1791).
The Andreas-Gryphius Prize is a prestigious literary prize in Germany, named after the German poet Andreas Gryphius (1616–1664). The prize is awarded to authors and translators whose work reflects German culture and history in Central, Eastern and Southern Europe and that contributes to understanding between Germany and its Eastern neighbors.
The Hermann-Hesse-Literaturpreis is a literary prize of Germany in honour of German-born Swiss writer, poet and Nobel Prize winner Hermann Hesse.
The Hannah Arendt Prize for Political Thought is a prize awarded to individuals representing the tradition of political theorist Hannah Arendt, especially in regard to totalitarianism. It was instituted by the German Heinrich Böll Foundation and the government of Bremen in 1994, and is awarded by an international jury. The prize money is €10,000.
Der Faust, officially Deutscher Theaterpreis Der Faust, is a German theatre prize, a national prize from 2006. It is awarded annually by the organizations Deutscher Bühnenverein, Kulturstiftung der Länder, Deutsche Akademie der Darstellenden Künste and the state in which the award ceremony is held. The trophy was designed by the Austrian stage designer Erich Wonder.
The Aby Warburg Prize is a science prize of the city of Hamburg. It was established in 1979. Since 1980, it is donated by the senate of the city for excellence in the humanities and social sciences. It is named after the Hamburg-born art historian Aby Warburg. The prize is worth 25,000 Euros and awarded every four years. Young scientists will receive a scholarship of 10,000 euros.
The Wilhelm Raabe Literature Prize is a German literary award established in 2000 by the city of Braunschweig and the radio broadcaster Deutschlandradio. It is named after the 18th-century writer Wilhelm Raabe and is awarded for an individual work. The prize sum is €30,000, making it one of the most significant German literary awards after the Georg Büchner Prize and the Joseph-Breitbach-Preis.
The Nicolas Born Prize, awarded by the German state of Lower Saxony, is a literary prize given since 2000 in honour of the writer Nicolas Born. It is awarded to notable German-language writers from Germany, Austria and Switzerland. The main prize is currently 20,000 Euros, and since 2015 a further 10,000 Euro prize has been awarded to a debut author.
The Robert Schumann Prize for Poetry and Music Mainz is a classical music prize named after Robert Schumann, awarded biennially since 2012. The prize money is €15,000, donated by the Strecker Foundation, Mainz. The prize is awarded by the Akademie der Wissenschaften und der Literatur in Mainz, for "personalities with an outstanding lifetime achievement in the field of poetry and music".
The Telemann Prize is an annual classical music award for special achievements in interpretation, research and cultivation of the life and work of Georg Philipp Telemann.
Maja Göpel is a German political economist, transformation researcher, and sustainability scientist with a focus on transdisciplinary. In 2019 she co-founded the Scientists for Future initiative. Göpel is an honorary professor at Leuphana University of Lüneburg.
The Fontane Prize of the City of Neuruppin was donated in 1994 on the occasion of the 175th birthday of Theodor Fontane from his native city of Neuruppin. Since 2019: Fontane-Literaturpreis der Fontanestadt Neuruppin und des Landes Brandenburg.
The Hegel Prize of the City of Stuttgart was first awarded in 1970 on the occasion of Georg Wilhelm Friedrich Hegel's 200th birthday. It is awarded every three years to a person who has made a contribution to the development of the humanities. The award is endowed with 12,000 euros. A jury decides on the award.
