Erik Rajohnson (born February 4, 1985) is a Czech-Malagasy former swimmer, who specialized in breaststroke events. [1] [2] He represented his nation Madagascar at the 2008 Summer Olympics, placing among the top 60 swimmers in the men's 100 m breaststroke. [3]

During his swimming career, Rajohnson trained full-time at Ostrava's sport club in the Czech Republic, became multiple junior and senior champion of Czech Republic in many individual and team courses. Erik was a member of national swimming team A and represented Czech Republic on various international events.

In 2003 Rajohnson became a member of Madagascar national swimming team and debuted his new career on African Island Games (JIOI) with three medals in Breaststroke and Individual Medley.

Between years 2003 and 2007 Rajohnson held many national records in most categories and swimming styles and represented Madagascar on several FINA World Swimming Championships.

In 2007 year Erik took first Madagascar's gold medal (and another two silver) in swimming on African Island games (JIOI) in men's 200m breaststroke course and has been invited by FINA to participate on Beijing 2008 Summer Olympics.

Rajohnson was invited by FINA through the Universality rule to compete for Madagascar in the men's 100 m breaststroke at the 2008 Summer Olympics in Beijing. [4] Swimming in heat two, he swam for 1:08.42 and put him in fifth place and fifty-ninth overall on the evening prelims. His personal best for this course is 1:05.32 [5]

Later that Rajohnson participated on long course FINA's World swimming championships in Rome and short course in Dubai where he has set several national records. He continued with swimming until his retirement from the sport in 2011 to focus on his stint as an international business development project manager for bilingual languages (French and English). Carlos Fernandes Esteves de Almeida is a Portuguese swimmer, who specializes in breaststroke events. He is a two-time Olympian, an NCAA Champion, a 2011 Big East Conference champion, and a current Portuguese record holder in the 50, 100 and 200 m breaststroke in the long and short course. Almeida is a resident athlete for Amadora Swimming Club in Lisbon, and is coached and trained by Filipe Coelho.

Laurent Carnol is a Luxembourgish swimmer, who specialized in breaststroke events. Carnol set national records of 1:01.39 and 2:09.78 in the men's breaststroke at the 2010 European Aquatics Championships in Budapest, Hungary, and at the 2012 European Long Course Meet in Luxembourg City, respectively. Carnol is also a member of SC Le Dauphin Ettelbruck under his personal coach Ian Armiger, and currently, a chemistry student at Loughborough University in Leicestershire, England.

Andrei Cross is a Barbadian former swimmer, who specialized in the breaststroke events. Cross represented his nation Barbados at the 2008 Summer Olympics, and in two editions of the Commonwealth Games, establishing a national record of 29.24 in the 50 m breaststroke. During his swimming career, Cross was affiliated with TeamBath, the sports organization of England's University of Bath, under the tutelage of head coach Mark Skimming.

Valentin "Vali" Preda is a Romanian swimmer, who specialized in breaststroke events. He represented his nation Romania at the 2008 Summer Olympics, and has also claimed multiple Romanian national records in the breaststroke, and medley relays. Preda is a former member of the swimming team for the Louisville Cardinals, and a graduate of exercise science at the University of Louisville in Louisville, Kentucky.

Ömer Aslanoğlu is a Turkish former swimmer, who specialized in the breaststroke events. He represented his nation Turkey at the 2008 Summer Olympics, and also swam for Galatasaray Sports Club.

Yuta Suenaga is a Japanese swimmer, who specialized in breaststroke events. He attained a top eight finish in the 100 m breaststroke at the 2007 Summer Universiade in Bangkok, Thailand, and had been selected to represent Japan at the 2008 Summer Olympics. Suenaga is an economics graduate at Hosei University in Tokyo.

Ivan Demyanenko is an Uzbek swimmer, who specialized in breaststroke events. He represented his nation Uzbekistan at the 2008 Summer Olympics, finishing in the top 60 of the men's 100 m breaststroke.

Erla Dögg Haraldsdóttir is an Icelandic swimmer, who specialized in breaststroke and individual medley events. She represented her nation Iceland at the 2008 Summer Olympics, and has claimed a total of twenty-four Icelandic championship titles and eleven national records in both the 50 and 100 m breaststroke.

Sergio Andrés Ferreyra is an Argentine former swimmer, who specialized in breaststroke events. Fucik was also member of the Jihlavsky Swimming Club, under the tutelage of his personal coach Markéta Kaplanova.

Jiří Jedlička is a Czech former swimmer, who specialized in breaststroke events. He represented his nation Czech Republic at the 2008 Summer Olympics, and has owned multiple Czech championship titles and national records in both the 100 and 200 m breaststroke. Jedlicka was also a member of Plavecky Areal Swimming Club in Pardubice, under the tutelage of his personal coach Jaroslav Strnad.

Shin Su-jong is a South Korean swimmer, who specialized in breaststroke events. He represented his nation South Korea at the 2008 Summer Olympics, and has won a silver medal, as a member of the men's 4 × 100 m medley relay team, at the 2006 Asian Championships in Singapore.

Michael Charles Andrew is an American competitive swimmer and an Olympic gold medalist. He was the 2016 world champion in the 100 meter individual medley. At his first Olympic Games, the 2020 Summer Olympics, he won a gold medal and set a world record as part of the 4x100 meter medley relay, placed fourth in the 100 meter breaststroke, fourth in the 50 meter freestyle, and fifth in the 200 meter individual medley. Andrew's swims in 2021 at the 2020 Olympics made him the first swimmer to represent the United States at an Olympic Games in an individual breaststroke event as well as another individual event other than an individual medley in the then-125-year-history of swimming at the Summer Olympics. He has won 78 medals at Swimming World Cup circuits.
