Erin Shaw (born 7 September 2004) is an Australian track and field athlete who specialises in high jump. She won the high jump competition at the 2022 Oceania Athletics Championships. [1]
Based in Sydney, Shaw lived in Germany for a part of her childhood as her family had to move there for her fathers work. She attended Roseville College Sydney from years 7-12 and graduated in 2022. Throughout her years in high school, she has broken numerous record at IGSA (Independent Girls Sports Association) for athletics, mainly high jump as well as many swimming record in this competition as well. During her final year of high school, she was named sports captain. [2] By the age 15 years-old, Shaw was already clearing heights of 1.77m. As of 2023, Shaw is studying Bachelor of Exercise Science/Advanced Studies at Sydney University. [3]
Shaw was named in the team for the 2021 World Athletics Championships but the Australian team did not travel due to the ongoing covid-19 pandemic. [4] She won the high jump competition at the 2022 Oceania Athletics Championships. [5]
Shaw set a new personal best height of 1.85 metres in June 2022. Competing at the 2022 World Athletics U20 Championships in Cali, Colombia in August 2022, Shaw was placed fourth with a clearance of 1.88m. As well as a new personal best, it was the highest jump by an Australian junior for 17 years. [6]
In February 2023, she cleared 1.90m indoors in Hustopeče. The following week, she cleared that height again in Udine. [7] She made her senior World Championship debut in August 2023, at the 2023 World Athletics Championships in Budapest, clearing 1.80 metres. [8]
The decathlon is a combined event in athletics consisting of 10 track and field events. The word "decathlon" was formed, in analogy to the word "pentathlon", from Greek δέκα and ἄθλος. Events are held over two consecutive days and the winners are determined by the combined performance in all. Performance is judged on a points system in each event, not by the position achieved. The decathlon is contested mainly by male athletes, while female athletes typically compete in the heptathlon.

Holly Bethan Bradshaw is an English track and field athlete who specialises in the pole vault. She used to be the British record holder in the event indoors and outdoors, with clearances of 4.87 metres and 4.90 metres. Bradshaw won a bronze medal at the 2020 Summer Olympics. She also won bronze at the 2012 World Indoor Championships, gold at the 2013 European Indoor Championships, bronze at the 2018 European Championships, and silver at the 2019 European Indoor Championships. She also won at the 2018 Athletics World Cup. Coached by Scott Simpson, she has been consistently ranked among the world's best and has been ranked in the world top ten on the Track and Field News merit rankings four times.
