The Estevan Group, formerly the Estevan Islands, is a small archipelago in the Hecate Strait region of the North Coast of British Columbia, Canada. It is to the west of Campania Island, which is separated from the group by Estevan Sound, and is itself to the west of Gil Island across Squally Channel. Southeast of it and of the Estevan Group is Caamaño Sound, beyond which is Aristazabal Island; to the east of all is Princess Royal Island, the fourth largest on the British Columbia Coast. To the northwest of the group is Banks Island.
The group's five largest islands are named after Lieutenant-Governors of British Columbia: Trutch, Barnard, Dewdney, Prior and Lotbinière. Another island, Tennant Island, is in Langley Passage, which runs through the heart of the archipelago on the southwest flank of Trutch Island, and is the site of a provincial nature conservancy and adjacent to an aerodrome at Ethelda Bay on Barnard Island.
Two protected areas intersect the Estevan Group. The Ethelda Bay – Tennant Island Conservancy protects an area in the surroundings of Tennant Island and was established in 2007. [1] The Dewdney and Glide Islands Ecological Reserve, established in 1971 and closed to the public, covers a larger area encompassing Dewdney Island, the Glide Islands, and surrounding smaller islands and islets. Princess Royal Island is the largest island on the North Coast of British Columbia, Canada. It is located amongst the isolated inlets and islands east of Hecate Strait on the British Columbia Coast. At 2,251 square kilometres (869 sq mi), it is the fourth largest island in British Columbia. It was named in 1788 by Captain Charles Duncan, after his ship Princess Royal.

Hesquiat Peninsula Provincial Park is a provincial park at the western extremity of the Clayoquot Sound region of the West Coast of Vancouver Island, British Columbia, Canada. The park was established by order-in-council on July 12, 1995 as part of the Clayoquot Land-Use Decision.
Gil Island is an island on the North Coast of British Columbia, Canada, located on the west side of Whale Channel in the entrance to Douglas Channel, one of the main coastal inlets, on the route of the Inside Passage between Pitt Island and Princess Royal Island. It is 26 km (16 mi) long, with a width ranging from 6 to 13 km, and an area of 231 km2. The only named summit on the mountainous island is Mount Gil, which faces the opening of Douglas Channel.

Wright Sound is a waterway on the North Coast of British Columbia, Canada. Wright Sound is 135 kilometers (84 mi) south of Prince Rupert and lies at the southern opening of Grenville Channel and between Gil, Gribbell and Pitt Islands. The small town of Hartley Bay sits on its northern shore and is home to the Gitga'ata, a Tsimshian group. On the north side of Wright Sound develops the Douglas Channel.
Banks Island is an island on the coast of the Canadian province of British Columbia. It is located south of Prince Rupert, on Hecate Strait, east of and opposite Haida Gwaii. To its east is Pitt Island and McCauley Island, both across Principe Channel. To its west is Bonilla Island. To its south lies the archipelago of the Estevan Group, beyond which is Caamaño Sound.

Trutch Island is an island on the North Coast of British Columbia, Canada. It is one of the northernmost of the Estevan Group of islands and like other islands in the group was named for a Lieutenant-Governor of British Columbia, in this case Joseph Trutch, who had also been Commissioner of Public works and had held other positions in the colonial governments.
The Hartley Bay Indian Band is also known as the Gitga'at First Nation or the Hartley Bay First Nation. The members of the Gitga'at First nation are often referred to as Gitka'a'ata. The population of Gitk’a’ata peoples living in Hartley Bay ranges from approximately 130-200 people. There are also about 400-500 Gitk’a’ata peoples living in Prince Rupert, British Columbia, Canada, a neighboring territory. The Gitk’a’ata people have lived in Hartley Bay for hundreds of years, if not always. Some notable things regarding the Gitga'at First Nation are their economy, geography, government, sports involvement, COVID-19 regulations, and relations.

The Kitlope Heritage Conservancy or Huchsduwachsdu Nuyem Jees in the Haisla language, is a conservancy located on the Pacific coast of the province of British Columbia, Canada. It preserves the largest continuous tract of coastal temperate rainforest in the world. Beginning at the head of Gardner Canal, the park stretches inland along the Kitlope River to the border of Tweedsmuir Provincial Park.
The Lucy Islands are a small archipelago off the North Coast of the province of British Columbia in Canada. The low-lying and heavily forested group, named after its largest island, Lucy Island, constitutes a provincially protected conservancy area that contains some of the North Coast's oldest archeological sites, a nationally significant seabird population, and a prominent 20th-century lighthouse.
Checleset Bay is a bay on the northwest coast of Vancouver Island, British Columbia, Canada. It is located southeast of Brooks Peninsula and northwest of Kyuquot Sound. Much of the land around the bay is part of Brooks Peninsula Provincial Park. Checleset Bay has three large inlets, Nasparti Inlet, Ououkinsh Inlet, and Malksope Inlet.
The Burdwood Group Conservancy is a conservancy located in the Broughton Archipelago in Mount Waddington Regional District, British Columbia. It was established by BC Parks on 13 March 2009 to protect a unique cluster of forested islands and islets situated at the entrance to Tribune Channel.
Duu Guusd Heritage Site/Conservancy is a heritage site and conservancy located in the northwest corner of Graham Island in the Haida Gwaii archipelago of British Columbia, Canada. It was established on March 23, 2008 to protect the ecological integrity and cultural importance of the region. The conservancy is part of an archipelago-wide system of protected areas that includes Gwaii Haanas National Park Reserve and Haida Heritage Site, Gwaii Haanas National Marine Conservation Area Reserve and Haida Heritage Site, and 17 other provincially protected areas.
