Esther Kalenzi is a Ugandan social entrepreneur [1] and founder of 40 Days Over 40 Smiles, a charity organization that supports vulnerable children and helps them access quality education. [2] [3] [4] [5] She won the 2013 Young Achievers Award in the Heroes category. [6]

Early life

Esther is the last born of four children. She went to Nabisunsa Girls' Secondary School, Aga Khan High School and Uganda Christian University, where she graduated with a bachelor's degree in mass communication. [7]

She in the process of launching the first sugar factory in Northern Uganda. Atiak sugar factory will not only bring revenue and development for the region but is championed as the first large scale industrial project for Northern Uganda. She is also one of the city's largest distributors of cement and other hardware materials. With successful business ventures throughout Uganda she has become a beacon of hope and a motivating role model for young African girls. she hails from the Garhajis clan of the Isaaq clan.

Milege Afrojazz Band, commonly known as Milege, is a world music band from Uganda, made up of young talented musicians from Uganda whose enthusiasm is derived from the diverse cultural music traditions of the different tribes of Uganda into which they fuse contemporary elements to express the likeness of Uganda's people in a more current context. As of 2015 Milege's members are; guitarist Manana F. Birabi, vocalist Joanita Katushabe, lead vocalist Gloria Akugizibwe, bassist Paul Owembabazi and violinist Alison Nadunga as a seasoned member.

Sister Charity is a western Ugandan musical artist and TV personality. She presents the morning show (Sisimuka) on TV West in Mbarara, Uganda. She is popularly known for her 2001 hit song Grade. She sings mostly in her native language Runyankole and then Luganda and English. She was listed among the best artists from Western Uganda alongside Juliana Kanyomozi, Ray G, Angella Katatumba and Toniks on Hi Pipo.

She also serves in the Parliament of Uganda, as the Luuka District Women's Representative.

Ndamira Catherine Atwikiire is an Ugandan accountant, legislator and business woman. She was re-elected into the 11th parliament of Uganda as a district woman representative for Kabale District which is the Kigezi sub-region under the ruling National Resistance Movement (NRM) political party. She was a member of Public Accounts Committee and also a member of committee on Health in the 10th parliament of Uganda. She is also a member of the Uganda Parliamentary Forum on Social Protection (UPFSP). The forum was established to work for social protection, using advocacy, influence, oversight and monitoring, and representation.
