In March 2024, several Republicans filed challenges to the Senate seat held by Democratic incumbent Mike Fanning, including Stubbs [2] and businessmen Tripp McCoy [3] and Tibi Czentye. [4] Stubbs won the Republican primary to face Fanning. [5]

Stubbs pledged to support term limits [6] and was endorsed by Americans for Prosperity - South Carolina. [7]

Fanning conceded to Stubbs after a close race which triggered an automatic recount. [8] [9] [10] [11]
