Evica Milovanov-Penezic is a Serbian glove designer known for her fringes, cutouts and use of vibrant colors.

Biography

Penezic started off as a clothing and handbag designer but switched to leather gloves in 1997 while living in Germany. [1] Noticing the limited variety of glove styles, she began creating new designs with embroidery and decorations. [2] Penezic creates her pieces by hand, relying on traditional methods. [3] [1] The handmade approach contributes to the uniqueness of each pair of gloves. [4]

She had her first exhibit at a Belgrade fair [1] and has presented collections in Paris several times. [3] [1] She also had several solo shows like the 2011 exhibition at the Ethnographic Museum in Serbia. [5] A Hong Kong exhibit garnered her an award in 2010. [6] Her work has been seen at the Belgrade Fashion Week accessories show [7] and has appeared in fashion publications like Serbian Elle Magazine. [8] She also presented her glove designs at the 8th International Exhibition of "Wearable Art". [1] Her leather gloves are worn by royals like Kate Middleton, as well as singers Deborah Harry and Kelis. [5] [1] [6]

Penezic collaborates with clothing designers like Roksanda Ilincic and Ana Šekularac for their runway shows. [5] She also designs for operas, as well as theater and movie productions, such as the Serbian film "St. George Shoots the Dragon". [5] Her gloves can be found in boutiques in several European cities. [3] [1] She is a member of "The Applied Artists and Designers Association of Serbia" and currently sits on its arts council. Nevena Ivanović is a Serbian fashion designer behind the brand NEO Design. The label is known for being inspired by Japanese culture and hairstyles, as well as African and Balkan fashion. According to Italian Vogue, Ivanović "... knows how to use different fabrics and textures in an elaborate and fascinating way, including lace, neoprene, stretch materials, chiffon and leather, thus creating a modern, futuristic yet feminine and intriguing silhouette."

Aleksandra Lalić is a Serbian fashion designer who relies on structural tailoring and abstract configurations. She is well known in her native country for creating experimental clothing such as dresses made of human hair.

Ana Šekularac is a British-Serbian fashion designer based in London. She is known for her tailored pieces, being inspired by Art-Deco silhouettes, and for incorporating a red, black and white color palette.

The Applied Artists and Designers Association of Serbia is an organization that supports Serbian professionals working in the fields of art and design. This includes architecture, textiles, scenography, costume design, sculpture, graphics, paintings, ceramics, art photography, restoration, and art history.

Verica Rakočević is a Serbian clothing designer who is known for her high fashion lines and also for manufacturing uniforms for the country's top companies and organizations. She is considered to be Serbia's top designer and she has for much of the last decade been considered the most influential woman in Serbian society and a key player in Serbia's political structure today. She has also gained much power and influence over many areas in Europe's world of fashion, inperticulare magazines and fashion media. In May 2019 Rakočević announced that she will be stepping down as creative director of her company in order to help and mentor her son Nenad's career and his comeback to fashion after he took a few years out due to personal family tragedy and fleeing the country in 2014 after his arrest, spending 88 days in jail. Rakočević published a book about her sons achievements and explaining how the arrest was a politically influenced attack on him and her family. The media and general public are very excited to see what this mother and son duo have planned and where they will take the Rakočević/Đukić Dynasty next. Her son Nenad has been labelled as Europe's next big name in fashion.

Ines Janković is a Serbian fashion designer based in Belgrade. She is known for her wedding dresses, sportswear separates, leather jackets and jewelry line. Her style has been described as classic but with a twist.

Sonja Jocić is a Serbian fashion designer known for her origami shapes, draped layering, and androgynous silhouettes, as well as for creating sustainable fashion. Her work is described as having a Scandinavian minimalism that contrasts black and white tones, also playing "... at the border of clothing and sculpture."

Serbia Fashion Week is a fashion show held twice a year in Novi Sad, Serbia. Occurring in April and November, the event attracts local and international fashion designers, such as Thierry Mugler and Anna Fendi. In addition to runway shows, seminars and exhibits, the "Fashion Talent Design Competition" helps promote young Serbian designers by showcasing their collections. The seven day festival also highlights the works of applied artists, musicians, interior decorators, multimedia experts and architects.

Zvonko Marković is a Serbian fashion designer known for creating sculptural leather clothing, as well as opulent gowns made of lace and silk. In 2018, he celebrated twenty years in the fashion industry with a special collection seen at "Serbia Fashion Week".
