EyeQ was a Danish girl group, that formed as the winners of the first season of the reality series Popstars which was broadcast on TV2 in 2001. [1] [2] The group became one of Danmarks best selling music groups. The group consisted of singers Trine Jepsen, the winner of Dansk Melodi Grand Prix 1999 with the song "Denne Gang", Louise Lolle, Sofie Hviid and Julie Næslund. [3]

Career

2001: Early success, first album

The media attention the group got from appearing on Popstars gave the group success with their debut single "I Want What She's Got" which topped the Danish single charts. [2] The single was sold in more than 30,000 copies and went triple platinum. Their debut album Let It Spin from 2001 peaked at number one on the Danish album chart and continued to place on the chart for twenty consecutive weeks. [3] The album sold 150,000 copies and got triple platinum. [3]

2002–03: Second album and split

The group's second album Be Okay was released in 2002 and in that album the girls themselves wrote several of the songs. The album peaked at number seventeen for one week. [1] [2]

Sofie Hviid left the group in 2003, and the rest of the group disbanded shortly after that. [1] [2]

Eden's Crush was an American girl group who were created on the American television series Popstars which aired on the now defunct WB. The group was formed in late 2000 and released the hit song "Get Over Yourself" in 2001, following the finale of the show. The group consisted of Ana Maria Lombo, Ivette Sosa, Maile Misajon, Nicole Scherzinger and Rosanna Tavarez.

After winning the inaugural season of the reality talent contest Popstars in late 2000, Polydor consulted a small team of German-based musicians to work with the quintet, including Thorsten Brötzmann, Peter Ries, Leslie Mándoki, and Peter Plate. Elle'ments is a pop record with an inclusion of styles such as dance, R&B, Latin and rock. Conceptually, the album centered on the idea of the classical elements, and during that time was compared to English girl group the Spice Girls' Forever (2000) era.

Temptation is the debut studio album by German girl band Monrose. It was released by Starwatch Music on 8 December 2006 in German-speaking Europe, following the band's formation on Popstars – Neue Engel braucht das Land, the television talent show's fifth season. Pre-recorded with all six Popstars finalists throughout October and November 2006, the majority of the album was produced by Popstars jury member Dieter Falk. Additional collaborators include Jiant, Jonas Jeberg, Toni Cottura and Mozart & Friends.

Trine Randbo Jakobsen (born 29 September 1977) is a Danish singer, actress and television presenter. Trine became known when she along with Michael Teschl won Dansk Melodi Grand Prix 1999 and got to represent Denmark in the Eurovision Song Contest 1999 in Jerusalem with the song "Denne Gang". The duo sang the English version of the song "This Time I mean It". In 2001, she participated in the first season of Popstars which was broadcast on TV2.
