FC Chitwan is a Nepali professional franchise football club based in Bharatpur. The club competes in the Nepal Super League, the top flight football league in Nepal. [1] [2] [3] [4] [5]
The club was founded in March 2021 before the commencement of Nepal Super League, the first ever franchise football league in Nepal under the control of All Nepal Football Association (ANFA). The club played their first match on 26 April 2021 against Lalitpur City FC.
On 29 September 2023, the club roped in former Indian midfielder Khalid Jamil as their head coach. [6]

Kathmandu Rayzrs had won the inaugural season after beating Dhangadhi FC in the final on 15 May 2021. In addition to the seven founding members, three new franchises were added. Jhapa FC represented Jhapa, Sporting Ilam De Mechi FC Ilam, and Birgunj United FC Birgunj. One of the founding members, Biratnagar City, decided to withdraw from the tournament, resulting in only nine teams participating in this edition. Lalitpur City FC became the champions of the second edition of this Nepal Super League. The losing finalist once again were Dhangadhi FC.
