Datuk Seri Fateh Iskandar bin Mohamed Mansor (born February 18, 1968), better known as FD Iskandar, is one of Malaysia's iconic leading prominent figures. FD Iskandar is currently the Group Managing Director and Chief Executive Officer of his family corporation, Glomac Berhad. The property tycoon has held many different hats across several industries over the years. As of September 2015, he was appointed Chairman of Media Prima Berhad and later became one of Telekom Malaysia's key directors.

Early life

Datuk Seri FD Iskandar was born on February 18, 1968. He attended the reputable Malay College Kuala Kangsar as a young teenager. He later then went on to graduate with a Bachelor of Commerce and LLB from Australia in 1989. FD Iskandar then advanced his studies and received an MBA from the University of Queensland, Australia in 1991. He was a legal practitioner in Australia before coming home to Kuala Lumpur, Malaysia. He served as a Barrister of Law at Freehill, Hollingdale & Page from 1989 to 1991. [1]

Career

Datuk Seri FD Iskandar first started his career back in Malaysia as a Corporate Manager at Kumpulan Perangsang Selangor Berhad (KPS) upon coming home from Australia. He later left KPS to establish his family business, Glomac Berhad in 1992 as the Group's General Manager of Business Development. FD Iskandar is at present the Group Managing Director and Chief Executive Officer of the property investment firm, Glomac Berhad which he listed on Bursa Malaysia in June 2000. His experience, influence and expertise have made him a prominent and respected figure amongst his peers locally and in the international arena.

In 2006, he was appointed as the Chairman of Axis-REIT Berhad and following went on to become the first-ever Malay President of the Real Estate & Housing Developers' Association Malaysia (REHDA). [2] Being the sole national representative body for property developers, REHDA plays a crucial function in assuring developers’ views are met by the relevant authorities and government agencies. As an alumnus of the University of Queensland, FD Iskandar was elected as the Vice-Chairman of the Malaysia Australia Business Council (MABC).

Today, FD Iskandar runs various public and private listed companies across several major industries. Apart from controlling Glomac Berhad, FD Iskandar also operates on the Board of Axis-REIT Berhad, which is the first REIT company to be listed on Bursa Malaysia. Furthermore, he also served as an Independent Director of Telekom Malaysia Berhad, Malaysia's broadband champion and leading telecommunications group between 2013 to 2018. In May 2017, he was appointed as the Chairman of VADS Berhad, a joint venture company between Telekom Malaysia and IBM. As a notable figure, FD Iskandar was additionally appointed to be part of Dewan Bandaraya Kuala Lumpur's (DBKL) City Advisory Board Member by His Majesty the King (Yang di-Pertuan Agong) and later served as the Chairman of the Special Taskforce to Facilitate Business Group (PEMUDAH). FD Iskandar is frequently invited as a guest speaker in forums, seminars and conventions to offer his insights and views to share his wealth of experiences. He has given lectures and talks both locally and internationally about Malaysia and the South-East Asian markets. Over the years, FD Iskandar has been recognised with numerous awards. [3]

Family

Datuk Seri FD Iskandar is the only son of Tan Sri FD Mansor and Puan Sri Zainun Yaacob. His spouse, Datin Seri Hafizah Zakaria, supports charity projects, especially those related to children in need and disaster relief. She regularly collaborates with UNICEF and other regional foundations to help children in need. When she is not involved in charitable foundations, Datin Seri Hafizah devotes her time and energy to nurturing her children's growth and development.

Together, the couple has 6 children. Their eldest son, FD Idzham has been recognised as the family's successor and is regularly seen in the public eye as following his father's footsteps. The young heir who graduated from Imperial College London was also an academy rugby union player for Saracens F.C. based in London, England. FD Idzham is currently an upcoming corporate figure managing several divisions with his family conglomerate, Glomac Berhad. He is known as an influential youth advocate dedicating his spare time to supporting children with special needs.

Tengku Adnan Tengku Mansor Malaysian politician

Datuk Seri Utama Tengku Adnan bin Tengku Mansor is a Malaysian politician who served as Minister of Federal Territories, Minister of Tourism and Minister in the Prime Minister's Department in the Barisan Nasional (BN) administration under former Prime Ministers Abdullah Ahmad Badawi and Najib Razak from November 2002 to the collapse of the BN administration in May 2018. He has served as Member of Parliament (MP) for Putrajaya sice March 2004.
