The FIA WTCC Race of Turkey was a round of the World Touring Car Championship, which was held at the Istanbul Park circuit near Istanbul in Turkey.

The race was run in the first season of the WTCC after its return in 2005. It remained on the calendar for 2006, but was dropped in 2007 in favour of the Race of Sweden. [1] The race was won by three different Italian drivers during its two years.

Turkish Grand Prix Formula One motor race

The Turkish Grand Prix is a Formula One motor race held at the Istanbul Park Circuit, designed by Hermann Tilke. The race was part of the Formula One World Championship between 2005 and 2011, and 2020 to 2021, the latter two being due to the COVID-19 pandemic. Felipe Massa and Ferrari are the most successful driver and constructor respectively, having won the race three times each.

Tiago Vagaroso da Costa Monteiro is a Portuguese professional racing driver currently competing in the World Touring Car Cup, driving a Honda Civic TCR for Engstler Motorsport. He competed in Formula One between 2005 and 2006 for the Jordan Grand Prix, Midland and Spyker MF1 teams – all different iterations of the same team as it was bought by new owners during a two-year stint as part of the Formula One paddock. José María López Argentine race car driver (born 1983)

José María "Pechito" López is an Argentine race car driver who is currently competing in the FIA World Endurance Championship with Toyota Gazoo Racing and 2014–2016 World Touring Car Champion. He raced in the 2006 GP2 Series for the Super Nova team, and previously for the DAMS team, and the CMS team in Formula 3000. He was also at Renault F1 as a test driver. He was supposed to make his Formula One debut in 2010 for US F1 Team but the team shut down before contesting a single race. On 16 December 2013 he joined the Citroën Total WTCC team for the 2014 World Touring Car Championship season. He won 10 races that year and clinched his first World Touring Car Championship. In 2015 he repeated the feat, again winning 10 races and the championship. In 2016, he again retained the title with eight wins.

World Touring Car Championship Worldwide auto racing championship

The FIA World Touring Car Championship was an international touring car championship promoted by Eurosport Events and sanctioned by the Fédération Internationale de l'Automobile (FIA). It has had several different incarnations, including a single season in 1987 as the World Touring Car Championship and most recently a world championship (WTCC) that has run between 2005 and 2017. Following the 2017 season, an agreement was reached for the FIA WTCC to become FIA WTCR and use the TCR technical regulations.

Race is a racing simulator computer game based on the World Touring Car Championship released in November 2006. The game was developed by SimBin Studios, who had earlier produced critically acclaimed racing simulators like GTR and GT Legends, and distributed by Eidos in Europe and by Valve across their Steam network. The first expansion pack, Caterham Expansion was released in June 2007 featuring new cars and tracks.

The championship, which commenced on 11 March and ended on 18 November, after twenty-two races, was open to Super 2000 Cars, Diesel 2000 Cars and Super Production Cars as defined by the relevant FIA regulations. It began on 2 March, and ended on 16 November, after twenty-four races. FIA WTCR Race of Portugal Motor racing event held in Portugal

The FIA WTCR Race of Portugal is a motor racing event held in Portugal as part of the World Touring Car Cup (WTCR) series, and formerly the World Touring Car Championship (WTCC). First run in 2007, the event last took place at the Autódromo do Estoril in June 2021; previously it has been held at the Circuito Internacional de Vila Real, the Circuito da Boavista, and the Autódromo Internacional do Algarve. The event will return to Circuito Internacional de Vila Real in 2022.

2005 FIA WTCC Race of Turkey

The 2005 FIA WTCC Race Of Turkey was the eighth round of the 2005 World Touring Car Championship season. It was held at Istanbul Park. The first race was won by Fabrizio Giovanardi in an Alfa Romeo 1-2. Alfa Romeo finished 1-2 in the second race also, with Gabriele Tarquini emerging the victor.

BMW 320 TC

The BMW 320 TC is a racing car built under Super 2000 specifications, which competed in the FIA World Touring Car Championship from 2011 to 2014. The car came into use as a customer car, after BMW ended their WTCC factory program at the end of the 2010 season.

Circuito Internacional de Vila Real

The Circuito Internacional de Vila Real is a 4.785 km (2.973 mi) temporary street circuit in Vila Real, Portugal. This circuit was used for car and moto races.
