The FIS Alpine World Ski Championships 2007 were the 39th FIS Alpine World Ski Championships, held 2–18 February in Åre, Sweden. Åre previously hosted the world championships in 1954, and often hosts late season World Cup events.
The Men's giant slalom competition at the 2013 World Championships ran on Friday, February 15 at 10:00 local time and 13:30, the ninth race of the championships. 99 athletes from 55 countries competed in the main race while 132 athletes from 53 countries competed in the qualification race on Thursday, February 14.
The men's slopestyle event in freestyle skiing at the 2014 Winter Olympics in Sochi, Russia took place 13 February 2014. In July 2011 freestyle slopestyle was added to the Olympic program, meaning the event would make its debut.

The women's sprint cross-country skiing competition at the FIS Nordic World Ski Championships 2009 was held on 24 February 2009. The Sprint qualifying began at 11:35 CET with finals at 13:30 CET. The defending world champion was Norway's Astrid Uhrenholdt Jacobsen, but she was eliminated in the qualification round at these championships. It was the first individual gold medal for Arianna Follis.

The women's slopestyle competition in freestyle skiing at the 2022 Winter Olympics was held on 14 February (qualification) and 15 February (final), at the Genting Snow Park in Zhangjiakou. Originally scheduled for 13 February (qualification) and 14 February (final), the events were delayed due to weather. Mathilde Gremaud of Switzerland won the event, improving on her 2018 silver medal. Eileen Gu of China won the silver medal, and Kelly Sildaru of Estonia bronze. For Sildaru, it was the first Olympic medal. This was also the first Winter Olympics medal for Estonia since 2010.
The 2022–23 FIS Ski Jumping World Cup was the 44th World Cup season in ski jumping for men, the 26th official World Cup season in ski flying, and the 12th World Cup season for women. The men's season was the longest in the World Cup history; it started in November 2022 in Wisła, Poland and concluded in April 2023 in Planica, Slovenia. The women's season also started in Wisła and concluded in Lahti, Finland.
