FIS Nordic World Ski Championships 2009

The FIS Nordic World Ski Championships 2009 took place 18 February – 1 March 2009 in Liberec, Czech Republic. This was the fourth time these championships were hosted either in the Czech Republic or in Czechoslovakia, having done so at Janské Lázně (1925) and Vysoké Tatry.

The defending world champions were Finland's Virpi Kuitunen and Aino-Kaisa Saarinen while the defending Olympic champions were Germany's Evi Sachenbacher-Stehle and Claudia Nystad. Kuitunen retired after the 2009-10 season.

The Men's team sprint took place on 2 March 2011. Sprint qualifying at 12:00 CET and finals at 14:15 CET. The defending world champions were Norway's Ola Vigen Hattestad and Johan Kjølstad while the defending Olympic champion were Norway's Øystein Pettersen and Petter Northug.

The defending world champion was Norway's Astrid Uhrenholdt Jacobsen, but she was eliminated in the qualification round at these championships. It was the first individual gold medal for Arianna Follis.
