Faith Nakut also known as Nakut Faith Loru Chuna is a Ugandan politician and woman member of Parliament of Uganda representing Napak district in the eleventh Parliament of Uganda under the National Resistance Movement political party. [1] [2] [3] [4] [5] [6]

Political office

In 2024, she tasked the Ministry of Health to investigate the increased cases of maternal deaths at Moroto Regional Referral following the death of Sarah Nadiye, the 12th woman to die in 2024 within Karamoja region. [7] She asked parliament of Uganda to reject the Ministry of Education policy that requires all nursery teachers to have degrees. [8] She also commented on the low literacy levels in Karamoja region. [9] [10] Faith also currently serves on the Finance Committee, Physical Infrastructure Committee, and Public Accounts (Local Government) Committee at the Parliament of Uganda. [6] She has also advocated against child trafficking in the region. [11]

Annie Logiel was a female Ugandan politician, a trained nurse, founder of Karamoja Traditional Healers Association, and district woman representative of Moroto in the 10th Parliament of Uganda under the National Resistance Movement political party. She was elected in 2016 and passed on in 2017. She died at the age of 48 at the Rigshospitalet in Copenhagen in Denmark where she was taken for an operation to remove a tumour on her brain. It was reported by her family that she went through the brain tumour operation but later developed complications leading to her death.

Stella Atyang is a Ugandan politician and a District Woman representing Moroto in the Ugandan parliament. She was elected on April 26, 2017, on the ticket of National Resistance Movement to replace her niece, Annie Logiel the Woman MP representing Moroto before her death.
