Faktion was an American rock band from Denton, Texas.
Faktion formed in 2002 as a four-piece group after the band members met at the University of North Texas in Denton, Texas. Originally, guitarist Marshal Dutton was the band's vocalist, but frontman Ryan Gibbs was recruited and the band became a five-piece group.
In 2004, the band independently recorded and released an EP titled Make a Dent. In October 2004, they signed a deal with Roadrunner Records. [1] Their self-titled debut album Faktion was produced by Brett Hestla (Dark New Day) and Justin Thomas, and was recorded at Gridlock Studios in Orlando, Florida. Shortly thereafter, the group embarked upon The Girls Gone Wild Rocks America tour with Hinder and Revelation Theory. The album was released on March 21, 2006. That following summer, after the release, the band gained a spot opening for Mercy Fall and Seether on Seether's Karma and Effect tour. Other notable tours included 10 Years and Theory of a Deadman with several other one-off dates with various national acts.
A short time after their album was released, the band announced they had parted ways with Roadrunner. [2]
The band independently released a five-track B-side EP on March 20, 2007. On May 3, 2007, the band announced Gibbs' departure to pursue other opportunities. Gibbs went on to record a song titled "Suddenly (One More Try)" with Dallas-based rock band Kennedy, released in late 2008; later he formed the acoustic duo Right on Red with Faktion guitarist Josh Franklin.
In February 2008, the band released a new EP, Ignite What's Inside, featuring the new lineup and new material. The Tracks "Feel Your Fire" "Burn" and "Be Here Lately" were produced by Chris Hawkes and recorded at One Road Studio in Austin, Texas, with "Be Here Lately" co-written by Hawkes. "Save the World" was recorded at "Reel Time Audio" in Denton, Texas
As of 2008–2011, Faktion has disbanded, with previous members doing their own individual projects. Former member Marshal Dutton started writing, recording and producing for Hinder in 2009, eventually taking over as their lead vocalist in January 2015. Dutton has already released a new album with Hinder titled When the Smoke Clears . They re-recorded the Faktion song "Dead to Me" on the new record.

Adema is an American rock band from Bakersfield, California. The band formed in 2000 with members vocalist Mark Chavez, guitarist Tim Fluckey, guitarist Mike Ransom, bassist Dave DeRoo, and drummer Kris Kohls. After their first two albums, Adema, and Unstable, the band was plagued with years of conflict and lineup changes. Ransom left the band in 2003 followed by Chavez later in 2004 due to conflicts between themselves and other members of the band. Luke Caraccioli replaced Chavez in early 2005 for one album, Planets, but then left a few months later in late 2005. Vocalist Bobby Reeves and guitarist Ed Faris, both from the band Level, were recruited to join as well, but only released one album, Kill the Headlights in 2007, before entering a hiatus. The band's original lineup reformed in late 2009 and toured, but both Ransom and Chavez left again before any new music would be recorded. Fluckey took over lead vocals from 2011 to 2017. The lineup released an EP, Topple the Giants. In 2013 Ransom returned once again; Chavez rejoined the band again in March 2017, only to leave again in 2019. He was replaced by Ryan Shuck. The band continued performing with Shuck, releasing two singles and a three song EP until February 2024 when Shuck departed from the band.
Seether are a South African rock band founded in 1999 in Pretoria, Gauteng. The band originally performed under the name Saron Gas until 2002, when they moved to the United States and changed it to Seether to avoid confusion with the deadly chemical known as sarin gas. Lead vocalist and guitarist Shaun Morgan is the band's longest serving member, bassist Dale Stewart joined shortly after formation while drummer John Humphrey joined them for the band's second album. Since 2018, the band has been employing second guitarist Corey Lowery. Several notable guitarists like Corey's brother Clint and Troy McLawhorn have toured or recorded with the band, however, Morgan has recorded most guitar parts for the band's records.
Adler's Appetite, is an American rock band from Los Angeles, formed in 2003. The band's current lineup consists of namesake and drummer Steven Adler, vocalist Ari Kamin, guitarists Michael Thomas and Alistair James, and bassist Todd Kerns. Along with original material, the band performs covers of Adler's former band Guns N' Roses, primarily songs from the album Appetite for Destruction.
Toxik is an American thrash metal band formed in 1985 in Peekskill, New York. After breaking up for the first time in 1992 and briefly reuniting in 2007, the band reformed once again in 2013. Crimson Glory is an American heavy metal band that was formed in 1983 in Sarasota, Florida, USA. It started in 1979 under the name Pierced Arrow, then Beowulf, before settling on Crimson Glory. The classic line-up consisted of the vocalist Midnight, guitarists Jon Drenning and Ben Jackson, bass guitarist Jeff Lords and drummer Dana Burnell. With that lineup, the band rose to international fame in the mid-1980s and was considered one of the pioneers of the American progressive metal movement, along with Queensrÿche, Dream Theater, Fates Warning and Watchtower. During its career, the band released four studio albums and one EP.
Hinder is an American rock band from Oklahoma City, Oklahoma, formed in 2001 by former lead singer Austin John Winkler, guitarist Joe "Blower" Garvey, and drummer Cody Hanson, with bassist Mike Rodden and guitarist Mark King joining in 2003. The band released four studio albums with Winkler; Extreme Behavior (2005), Take It to the Limit (2008), All American Nightmare (2010) and Welcome to the Freakshow (2012). Cody Hanson, along with former lead singer Austin Winkler, wrote the majority of the band's music on their first four albums. After Winkler left the band in 2013, they looked for a new lead vocalist, and added Marshal Dutton. They have since released When the Smoke Clears (2015) and The Reign (2017) with their new vocalist. Their seventh studio album is currently in the works. The band was inducted into the Oklahoma Music Hall of Fame in 2007.

Clint Edward Lowery is an American musician, songwriter and producer, best known as a guitarist and backing vocalist in the rock band Sevendust. He has also played in Dark New Day and Still Rain, and served as the touring guitarist for Korn and Seether through most of 2007 and 2017, respectively. In 2008, he decided to work on new music as a solo artist, and the name of the project was titled Hello Demons Meet Skeletons. Lowery wrote and recorded a six-song EP while off the road with Sevendust, just for a week. He played every instrument on the CD, which was produced by his brother Corey Lowery. The EP, Chills, was released in October, followed by a tour at the same month. He would also later release two more EPs with HDMS. Also his fourth and last EP, Choices, was released in 2013.
Unified Theory, previously Luma, were an American rock band from Seattle, Washington, formed in 1998. The lineup consisted of Chris Shinn, formerly of Celia Green, former Blind Melon members Christopher Thorn and Brad Smith (bass) as well as Dave Krusen (drums) formerly of Pearl Jam.
Edgewater was a five-piece rock band from the Dallas, Texas area that began in 1997. The band's style was not aimed to fit into any particular genre. According to drummer Jeremy Rees, "Our music is like our band name. It's got that edge to it and it's crunchy and really thick in the hardest places, but the overlays and melodies flow like water over the top."
Rev Theory is an American rock band formed in 2002 in North Andover, Massachusetts. The band has released five studio albums: Truth Is Currency (2005), Light It Up (2008), Justice (2011), The Revelation (2016) and Salvation Nowhere (2024), as well as three EPs: Revelation Theory EP (2004), Acoustic Live from the Gibson Lounge (2009) and Take 'Em Out (2012). The song "Hell Yeah" was the opening theme song for the popular Spike show Blue Mountain State and the song "We Own The Night" was the main theme song for the WWE Network reality series Breaking Ground. The song "Voices" is currently being used by World Wrestling Entertainment (WWE) wrestler Randy Orton.
Defeated Sanity is a German technical death metal band from Dachsbach, Bavaria that was conceived in 1993 by guitarist Wolfgang Teske and his son, drummer Lille Gruber. The group's lineup currently consists of Gruber (drums), Jacob Schmidt, Josh Welshman (vocals), and Vaughn Stoffey (guitar). The band is known for their very brutal, abrasive and intricate style of death metal, while at the same time maintaining almost jazz fusion style influences. Defeated Sanity's genre has also sometimes been categorized as progressive death metal.

He has also seen success as the part-time lead vocalist and full-time lead guitarist in his former band Faktion. He also provides lead guitar and backing vocals in the country duo group Drankmore.
