Faktion was an American rock band from Denton, Texas.
Faktion formed in 2002 as a four-piece group after the band members met at the University of North Texas in Denton, Texas. Originally, guitarist Marshal Dutton was the band's vocalist, but frontman Ryan Gibbs was recruited and the band became a five-piece group.
In 2004, the band independently recorded and released an EP titled Make a Dent. In October 2004, the band signed a record deal with Roadrunner Records. [1] Their self-titled debut album Faktion was produced by Brett Hestla (Dark New Day) & Justin Thomas, and was recorded at Gridlock Studios in Orlando, Florida. Shortly thereafter the group embarked upon The Girls Gone Wild Rocks America tour with Hinder and Revelation Theory. The album was released on March 21, 2006. That following summer, after the release, the band gained a spot opening for Mercy Fall and Seether on Seether's Karma and Effect tour. Other notable tours included 10 Years and Theory of a Deadman with several other one-off dates with various national acts.
A short time after their album was released, the band announced they had parted ways with Roadrunner. [2]
The band independently released a five track b-side EP on March 20, 2007. On May 3, 2007, the band announced Gibbs' departure to pursue other opportunities. Gibbs went on to record a song titled "Suddenly (One More Try)" with Dallas-based rock band Kennedy, released in late 2008; later he formed the acoustic duo Right on Red with Faktion guitarist Josh Franklin.
In February 2008 the band released a new EP "Ignite What's Inside" featuring the new lineup and new material. Tracks "Feel Your Fire" "Burn" and "Be Here Lately" were produced by Chris Hawkes and recorded at One Road Studio in Austin, Texas with "Be Here Lately" co-written by Hawkes. "Save The World" was recorded at "Reel Time Audio" in Denton, Texas
As of 2008-2011 Faktion has disbanded, with previous members doing their own individual projects.
Former member Marshal Dutton started writing, recording and producing for Hinder in 2009, eventually taking over as Hinder's lead vocalist in January 2015 after Hinder's former lead vocalist Austin Winkler departed the band in November 2013. Dutton has already released a new album with Hinder titled When the Smoke Clears . They re-recorded and did the Faktion song "Dead To Me" on the new record.

Seether are a South African rock band founded in 1999 in Pretoria, Gauteng. The band originally performed under the name Saron Gas until 2002, when they moved to the United States and changed it to Seether to avoid confusion with the deadly chemical known as sarin gas. Lead vocalist and guitarist Shaun Morgan is the band's longest serving member, bassist Dale Stewart joined shortly after formation while drummer John Humphrey joined them for the band's second album. Since 2018, the band has been employing second guitarist Corey Lowery. Several notable guitarists like Corey's brother Clint and Troy McLawhorn have toured or recorded with the band, however, Morgan has recorded most guitar parts for the band's records.

Hinder is an American rock band from Oklahoma City, Oklahoma, formed in 2001 by lead singer Austin John Winkler, guitarist Joe "Blower" Garvey, and drummer Cody Hanson with bassist Mike Rodden and guitarist Mark King joining in 2003, solidifying the line-up. The band released four studio albums with Winkler; Extreme Behavior (2005), Take It to the Limit (2008), All American Nightmare (2010) and Welcome to the Freakshow (2012). Cody Hanson, along with former lead singer Austin Winkler, wrote the majority of the band's music on their first four albums. After Winkler left the band in 2013, they looked for a new lead vocalist, and added Marshal Dutton. They have since released When the Smoke Clears (2015) and The Reign (2017) with their new vocalist. Their seventh studio album is currently in the works. The band was inducted into the Oklahoma Music Hall of Fame in 2007.

Clint Edward Lowery is an American musician, songwriter and producer, best known as a guitarist and backing vocalist in the rock band Sevendust. He has also played in Dark New Day and Still Rain, and served as the touring guitarist for Korn and Seether through most of 2007 and 2017, respectively. In 2008, he decided to work on new music as a solo artist, and the name of the project was titled Hello Demons Meet Skeletons. Lowery wrote and recorded a six-song EP while off the road with Sevendust, just for a week. He played every instrument on the CD, which was produced by his brother Corey Lowery. The EP, Chills, was released in October, followed by a tour at the same month. He would also later release two more EPs with HDMS. Also his fourth and last EP, Choices, was released in 2013.

Defeated Sanity is a German technical death metal band from Dachsbach, Bavaria that was conceived in 1993 by guitarist Wolfgang Teske and his son, drummer Lille Gruber. The group's lineup currently consists of Gruber (drums), Jacob Schmidt, Josh Welshman (vocals), and Vaughn Stoffey (guitar). The band is known for their very brutal, abrasive and intricate style of death metal, while at the same time maintaining almost jazz fusion style influences.
