Farashganj Sporting Club commonly known as Farashganj SC is an association football club [1] [2] [3] based in Farashganj, Dhaka, Bangladesh.

It is currently competing in the Bangladesh Championship League. [4] [5]

Farashganj Sporting Club is situated between the historical sites Ruplal House and Northbrook Hall in the old part of Dhaka. It was also a team of Bangladesh Premier League until its relegation in the 2017–18 season. After its relegation from the top division the clubs trajectory went downhill as they are currently fighting relegation in the second tier of Bangladesh football league system.

Saif Sporting Club was an association football club based in Dhaka, Bangladesh. Founded in 2016, the club competed in the Bangladesh Premier League, the top flight of Bangladeshi football, from 2017 to 2022. On 3 August 2022, the club owners announced that the club will temporarily withdraw from professional football due to insufficient commercial returns from it, days after the end of 2021–22 Bangladesh Premier League. They also finished third in the league, which is the best top-tier league result of the club's history. The club played their homes games at Munshiganj Stadium in their final season.

The 2017–18 Bangladesh Football Premier League is the tenth season of the Bangladesh Premier League since its establishment in 2007. A total of 12 teams are competing in the league. Saif Global Sports are the right holder of BPL's tenth edition and they accommodate the advertising, branding, TV transmission, radio, marketing rights of the Bangladesh Premier League 2016–17. The league started from July 28, 2017. Fakirerpool Young Men's Club was promoted as the champion of 2016 BCL season. They were the 13th team to took part in this season, but they did not, due to fund crisis.
